So I just got home from my orthodontic appointment I officially have In-Ovation C braces on my top teeth. I don't get braces on the bottoms for another few months; I'm waiting on one of my top teeth to move forward because it currently sits behind the bottom teeth. I also have these weird blue "stops" in, to prevent me from biting my teeth all the way down, to let that front tooth come forward a bit. They are really annoying! Has anybody else here had those in??
I love these braces so far. The process of having them put on was really easy and painless. It took about an hour because I had to get sutures removed from my oral surgery as well. The end result is really cool though I can hardly tell from a distance that I even have them on
Hi. Congrats on your new braces. I'm currently in uppers only until my teeth are in correct positioning before I get the lowers as well. We all go at our own pace.
Good luck.

Hi there. My situation was like yours, my front teeth were behind my bottom teeth so the ortho put molar buildups to prevent me from biting down until they were pulled forward. Unfortunately, I grinded down my buildups in the 3 months I've have them in, so when I bite down, one of my from teeth still hide behind my bottom teeth ever so slightly. I'm hoping it's not an issue and there's enough room for it to be moved forward. I'm thinking it's okay because my ortho didn't say anything about it during my last checkup when he tested my alignment.
I was worrying about grinding them down, but my ortho said that I wouldn't be able to because they were so strong.
I was also told to expect a bit of discomfort and pressure over the next few days (and I've read that a lot of people do experience that); however, it has been 7 hours since I've had my braces on and I haven't experienced any discomfort at all.. is that normal???
I am so surprised that I haven't needed to use the wax yet. I've had absolutely no discomfort whatsoever from the brackets rubbing against the insides of my lips.
How long does it take to get used to these weird blue stoppers? They are so irritating! I try to bite into my food and I look like such a weirdo, lol!
Thanks for all the replies guys It's so refreshing to know there are other people in the same situation.
I didn't get pain from the brackets until day 2, but I'm at day 7 now and it's mostly gone. Maybe you'll be totally lucky and won't have any issues...that would rock! I thought the molar bands were bothering me, but it turns out I had in inflamed taste bud that was constantly rubbing on the bands. Once I got rid of that, all was well again.
Molar buildups though? Still not used to those. They don't feel SO weird anymore, but I'm still very aware of them (and the braces as a whole) and I'm still having a heck of a time chewing, between the limited contact and the pressure.

I had to go in for a quick appointment the other day because I thought I had a loose wire or something. Turns out, it was a toothbrush bristle.. lol!
About these molar build ups though... mine have actually ground down and my bite is able to close again.... is that normal???? I thought they were supposed to be rock hard, and impossible to grind down.
