How long did it take to correct your overbite? I'm at 6mm wearing Japan's. doubling up at night. We're nearing the end of my treatment and I just got them on 3 weeks ago. Wondering if it's normal to get elastics so late in the game?

Also, what prevents teeth from moving back once the elastics are off?

Well im nowhere near the end of my treatment but I know people who have had elastics and the ending up of their treatment and some in the middle of treatment.

I guess it depends on the ortho and the patient (specific needs)

Also i think the retainer (once worn as directed) plays a role in keeping teeth in place while the teeth get acquainted in their new places for good.lolz
