Hi everyone,
I have gummy smile due to vertical maxillary excess, and my orthodontist plans to use TADs to intrude my upper jaw. However, I have just seen a Youtube video where a virtual VME patient is treated with a maxillary impaction surgery (you can watch it by typing "Maxillary Impaction Surgery - Vertical Maxillary Excess" into Youtube search). My question is:
In the clip, we can see the maxillary impaction surgery causes the mandible to rotate upwards, resulting in reduced facial height. Can maxillary intrusion by TADs produce the same effect? I have Long Face Syndrome, so if TADs can reduce my facial height, it would be a big plus.
Thanks.
