Hi I am a 51 year old and have developed a bad underbite for some reason,i have been to the orthodontist and seen a surgeon who has said I require upper and lower jaw surgery.

Have been told that I will be in braces 18months then surgery and then another year in braces , I am not sure abot what to do surgery or not as my age , ant advice would be great

I believe you can have the surgery at your age, it's just that recovery is more difficult, in general. It might increase the risk of complications, too, but I'm not positive.
