So I'm a newbie getting ready to take the brace face plunge at the tender age of 24 and I'm more than excited. I have been wanting to straighten my smile for years but as the story goes my parent couldn't afford it. This website has really helped in preparing me. I have had 2 consultations thus far and will be having a 3rd and possible 4th next week. If I have learned anything so far it is to get 2nd opinions especially since my first 2 consults have said EXTRACTIONS. As I said great support and information on the site. Thanks for all your stories

Welcome welcome!

I was braced at 24 and know exactly where you are coming from, and this site is absolutely amazing when it comes to advice and just needing to know there are others out there in the same position.

It's been about 10 months for me...and I'm wearing elastics now, hopefully getting closer to my de-brace date, but it always changes so who knows. I wish you much luck on your journey to a wonderful smile you love!

Welcome! :)

Well done for getting different ortho opinions, on your way to getting that perfect smile ;)
I started at 23 so roughly the same age. After about a couple months once the whole excitement wears off a bit you will hardly notice em, that's when time will start to whizz on by!

And you'll have that hollywood smile you've always wanted in NO time 8)
