My last dentist recommended a Rotadent and basically pushed it on me. I can't say it was a bad thing because I don't think I will ever go back to using a manual toothbrush again;however, is there anybody out there who has used the Rotadent and maybe another electric toothbrush? What did you think? :gavel:

I used to use a Rotadent...for years. Then I tried the Sonicare toothbrush and was instantly hooked. I can't imagine ever finding something better then my Sonicare....love, love, love it! It feels better, it cleans better and overall performs better.

Thanks for the response! My fiancee was thinking of getting one. He's already gone through the whole metal phase of his life, but feels as if his manual toothbrush isn't getting the job done. CostCo has them available cheaper than anywhere else. If he likes it, so will I. Hrmm. Was there something specifically about the Rotadent that made you say "No, thank you!"?

Power & versatility...the Rotadent lacked power and versatility. I mean it's a decent brush and I was happy with it for years. But when I got braces and brushed with it, it took forever to clean my teeth really well. Since our cleaning routine already increases because of the braces I wanted to simplify as best as I could. So I gave the Sonicare a shot and it worked beautifully, it was thorough, easy to manuever in my mouth, it felt good to my teeth and gums and I didn't have to brush for 10 minutes to make sure I got everywhere.

I highly recommend everyone to try it, I've tried them all, literally...and I'm a clean freak when it comes to oral care so I'm glad i found something that really does the job.

I blog about my experiences in braces and I have one entry ALL about cleaning tools....some find it helpful. Here's the direct link: http://tinselteethchronicles.blogspot.com/p/cleaning-tools.html

QueenElizabeth,

I have noticed that here in AZ, Sonicare toothbrushes have been on sale a lot lately, usually around $39.00. At Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, Target...etc. I have also seen coupons in the Sunday paper for $10-15 dollars off a Sonicare toothbrush. You may even be able to find coupons online. I know most stores have their ads online also.

I bought a backup set a few weeks back for $19.99 (with sale and coupon). The same toothbrush I bought when I got braces for close to $80.00!

Hopefully, you may be able to find deals like this in CA. I haven't checked out Costco for these brushes but I am going there tomorrow so I might have to take a look.

Good Luck!
