EllieUK13's Journey - Oct07 - PICS 2,3,4,5,6,8 New pg9
Hi All
Well, after seeing my Ortho and getting the plan together my journey has now started!!!
Having two teeth removed tomorrow (20th Sept 07), to make way for these teeth to shift round into the right position - as soon as I can work out how to load pictures I will update my post!
I have my b-day, as its known on here, for the top set of train tracks to be put on, the 25th Oct 07!
Two to three months later my bottom ones will be placed in!
My mouth is starting to ache just at all these thoughts that are going through my head! Bet this is normal!!!
Well I shall try and keep this post as up to date as possible, if anyone in the UK knows of great products to buy etc before my b-day and where to get them from that would be great! In fact any info from anyone would be great!
Take care all and 'happy bracing'!
xXx

Well..teeth are out! It was such an easy process! I ached a little after, and had to eat slop for a few days, but I thought it went really well!
I spent the whole day worrying for nothing!
This is definately the first step.... as I cant leave these gaps now!!!
I have to get the braces on to sort it out!!!! HURRY 25th October!!!!
God I cant wait!!!!
Hope you are all ok out there guys and girls! xxx

Hi Ellie
Glad to hear that the extractions were not too bad, ill be due to get mine out at the end of October.
As for products to buy in the UK im sure you may be able to buy certain products from a supermarket or chemist, i do know that you can buy a dentakit, (there is a link to the website on the main archwired page) but it will have to be shipped from the US so you'll have to look at the shipping costs. I still need to get my products so sorry i cant be more specific.
Hope your brace day goes well and ill be keeping an eye on your story.

Hi Hannah!
Good luck with your extractions at the end of next month! Trust me, it was a breeze, nothing to sweat about at all!
The only thing that bugged me about the extractions was eating soup and slop for two days! Think they say you can eat normally after 24hrs, but think that all depends on the person and what teeth you have out!
Still feel like a 'Hill Billy' with no teeth! But its fine! All be worth it in the end!
Just worked out how to put a Avatar on here.... so will hopefully work out the photo thing soon too! Oh, the picture is my dog Sam by the way!
Need to be careful on the product front.... can see myself buying way too much stuff and never needing it! So im thinking i will buy as i go, so to speak!
Got my next appointment on the 11th Oct, that is for the things (sorry mental block) that go round your back teeth and a bar across the roof of your mouth, so those back teeth do not move in to the newly created gap from my extractions!
So i shall let you all know how that goes too!
Speak soon!
Take care all! x

I had my Ortho appointment yesterday and i have got myself fitted with some groovy blue elastic bands on two of my back teeth (bands either side of my mouth)! Ortho said these would be the worst bit of my treatment..... But I didnt think he knew what he was talking about! I felt fine afterwards and all last night!!!
WELL this morning!!!! Jesus, did Mike Tyson come into my bedroom last night and give me a few beatings?? Cos that is what it feels like!!!!
Teeth ache so much and they feel like little china teeth that vibrate every time they touch! My whole jaw aches! Dont know if any of you get it, but it feels like when you smile too much and your whole face aches! Does anyone get that??? Or is it just me?!!!
Getting the impression for my TPA on Monday, then getting that fixed along with my top brace on the 25th Oct!
The pain is bearable by the way, just feels a little tender! But hey, it will all be worth it!
My journey has finally started!!!
Hope you are all ok! x

Shall do Karen, thanks!
Need to start my rinses now what with my braces going on very soon!!!
Teeth only really hurt the day after the bands were on, feel ok now! Still cant really chew anything too hard though!
Went to the Ortho today and got the metal bands put on round where my bands have been, he took an impression and then remove the metal bands and placed back my elastic bands .
But they are ok.... Been told these bands may fall out after 7 days but not to worry about it if they do! But if they fall out within 7 days Im to go back on the 7th day to get them put back in?
Well my question is why cant i have them out on the 7th day?!!! I should have asked, guess its better if they stay in until the 25th Oct?
Oh well.... just roll on the 25th! So exicted I cant wait! It feels like the longest month of my life waiting for my b-day!!!

Hi Ellie,
Glad everything is going well. Where the blue elastic bands called spacers? If they are i hope i dont feel like ive been hit by mike tyson when i get mine put in soon, i have heard that they can be pretty nasty little things.
Im also having something similar to you which will hold my back teeth from moving into my extraction gaps but the appliance that i am having is called a nance button.
p.s your dog is such a cutie

Hi Hannah!
Yeah, they are called Spacers.... i did hear they were nasty little things, but they are not all that bad! I promise! Just the day after your mouth will ache a little, i still cant chew anything too hard but its not all bad! I could do with some weight lost anyway... got a work Christmas Party to slim down for!
Think a Nance Button and a TPA are kinda the same things! Not sure what is different about them. I mentioned to my Ortho that I am worried about the TPA hurting, but he assured me the Spacers are the worst bit. He reckons I wont get a hurting tongue or anything like that! Which can only be good!
Keep me updated, Start your own Brace Story when all your stuff starts honey! x take care x

Hi Ellie
Good luck with your appointment today. Ireally hope everything goes ok for you. Make sure you have something really nice to eat before hand as ive heard it can be difficult to eat until you get used to them.
Not long to go now so let us all know how it goes.
Happy brace day by the way
