Here goes...
I've been wanting to get braces for a long time, and during part of this time I never liked taking pictures b/c my top front tooth stuck out slightly, but as I got older I learned how to smile and make it less noticeable.
This year I finally made the decision to get them so on June 20 I had spacers put in, I admit after reading different stories I thought they would hurt but they didn't, it was just a bit annoying because I like to floss and the feeling was awkward.
In between this week I was going back and forth with Ceramic and Metal, getting opinions, reading reviews, which only made this even more confusing for me, but I decided to go with metal. I figured you are going to be able to tell I have braces anyway.
On June 27, FINALLY the braces were put on, but they had a trying time putting on my molar bands because my contacts are tight and the spacers didn't help (at least not to me), I've had no pain (just annoying), no cut lips or cheeks (thank heavens) and no canker sores, so I believe I'm making out fairly well. I have to wear them for 23 months, and later on as I make progress I will have to have rubber bands put on and maybe use a tongue thrusting appliance.
