Nope they don't, I basically chew with my back teeth and always have. I think I have gum recession on the top tho and freaking out right now so I am shopping for waterpiks. The bottom front teeth don't really touch the top front teeth. I can't wait for it to get fixed!

It's amazing how crooked my teeth were before I got braces. I always wanted straight teeth and looking at my before pictures I am so glad I got braces even though I am freaking out about my gums receding and the extractions.

Image

I chipped a little off the front teeth and they are kind of off now but I'm sure it will be fixed later when things are more leveled. I am so glad I will finally be able to close my mouth properly and not feel so self conscious about my crooked teeth in a sea of people with normal bites and teeth.

Second Adjustment

#10 Post by yj207 »

Today I got my 2nd adjustment... A lot of new things, I got springs to close my gaps and power chains. I didn't even have to brush my teeth after they took out the ligs because the lady said my teeth looked pretty clean. I don't feel the springs at all and skeptical about them working, hopefully they do their job! Finally reached the 5 month mark! I asked them about the black triangles and gums and it seems like those things will get worked on later when things get more straightened out. The lady couldn't get the end powerchain to meet at one end so she skipped a loop, I hope that's ok.

Braced for 23 months 1 week and 3 days!
I had 4 extractions and all my wisdom teeth removed.
I decided to get removal retainers so it will be easier to floss.

I guess it has been a month since my last adjustment and my gaps did move a lot!

It's weird how teeth move throughout the days...

It's 3am and haven't brushed my teeth yet, school is almost over and staying up all night trying to study. As you can see I am studying real hard @_@

I wonder what direction they are moving in... it looks like my overjet or whatever it's called is getting bigger? Who knows? The bottom left is almost closed yay!

Somehow I managed to post it without the bigger image link, although not that much bigger since I sized it pretty small. It's weird to see such big close ups of teeth sometimes.

Honestly I don't like how my teeth are looking, not like I liked how it looked before. I just can't wait for the bite to get fixed and have all these awkward spots filled out.

Finally got my elastics today... my teeth look basically the same. If it wasn't for that ticker thing I probably wouldn't even know how long I had braces on. My teeth have a lot of leveling to do, so far I don't like how it looks but its a work-in-progress. I neglected to eat before appt and do not feel like eating when mouth is so sore. The assistant told me that it will take 10 hours for elastics to make the teeth move. Not looking forward to tomorrow when it's already pretty sore now. I saw the dr do something interesting, he moved my lower wire and bent it a certain way to move my back teeth more up or something. I got tooth colored power chains, I must say I like the tooth colored a lot more than the silver. Can't wait for my teeth to finish moving~~ One gap has closed, one is close to close. The are all closing at different times, makes my mouth look kind of off. Nobody is staring at my teeth as carefully as I do but can't wait for it to get all closed!

hello.. your situation is similar to mine. it doesn't appear you got braces for protrusive teeth, but the tooth movement is similar. and i had extractions. my bite is looking like yours. i know exactly what you mean.. for some reason the teeth aren't parallel looking. i don't know why that is. it makes me think that my front/anterior teeth are being pulled down too much on the top or something. the top and bottom only look "level" if I open my mouth just a little bit. if i clamp down my bite, then i can't see my wire on my anterior bottom at all.. it's hiding under the bite of my top teeth. but, i can say that it is slowly looking better. i can see my teeth are being levelled right now. i still have yet to close my gaps on top, she is maybe going to do that in the next month.

anyways, just wanted to pop in and tell you i know what you mean .. is it getting better?
