First Adjustment Today!
I had my very first adjustment today. And they said they see some progress (not a lot, but that's to be expected), after less than a month!
My overbite was at (is there a negative there?) 6, my overjet was at -1. Today the overbite is at 5, the overjet was still at -1.
Then she said a bottom tooth has moved forward, and they put a new archwire in at the bottom, and commented that I should see more progress between now and the next appointment, March 16th.
I'll post comparison pics (for the tooth that moved) as soon as I can get them.
I made PROGRESS!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you!
Okay, here are 2 new pictures, then pictures I took before.. I'm really frustrated that I can't take pictures like everyone else, of the top and bottom. Even when my digital camera is on macro, it won't focus unless it's three inches away and I have a very small jaw and mouth. So you can't see the progress I've made!
This is the initial picture, on day 2 with braces:

Okay, these two are from today, 21 days in.

If you reeallly look on today's first picture, the very last bottom tooth in full view on the right is the one that has moved forward and straightened out a little bit. It used to hide slightly behind the tooth in front of it, which you can sort of see if you study the very first picture.

Congratulations
Your pictures definitely show improvement. I had my ortho print pictures that I scanned in later. That way, they are quite good.
I accidentially posted several copies of pictures on my message. UGH. I hope I can edit the extras off soon! Keep in touch! Todd

Happy one month anniversary!!!
Your pics are great, it's amazing how seeing some movement boosts our energy level and makes us happier. lol. Makes it worth it for all the "bad" feelings about the braces...at least that's how it is for me.
And I agree...I hate that I can't edit my posts!!! Very frustrating lol.

Thank you, both of you. I do agree, movement definitely gave me validation that I REALLY did the right thing, because sometimes I have some doubts about how this will go. From reading this site, I think that's normal, to occasionally wonder 'what if my teeth NEVER get better?!'
Thanks kiwi, I hope this month brings more progress!

Hello
Very interesting. I know they will move fast, so don't worry about them going slow. They move faster then you think...
Congrats! If your ortho has molds of your teeth lying around, you should check them out. I think being able to see in 3D how your teeth used to look highlights your progress even better than pictures.
My top front four teeth were almost exactly like yours when I first started, and I expect that they'll be completely aligned by my third adjustment.

They were really almost exactly like mine? That's really good to know, I thought I was the only one with unusual teeth like that...I thought it MUST have been my fault, hahaha.celiviel wrote:Congrats! So I understand from your post that your front teeth have changed quite a bit in a short amount of time. Hopefully mine will as well. Mine...I only see a slight, slight difference, but at least I see some sort of difference!
