Dental Composite Material is made of a plastic-based resin and an inorganic glass filler blended with a chemical coupling agent. It can be made in a variety of tooth-colored shades and used to fill dental caries (cavities) and make composite-based tooth veneers. Dental Composite is usually hardened with a curing light and is a very strong material. When used in tooth-colored fillings, it is bonded into the tooth which helps to reinforce and strengthen the tooth structure.
Dental Composite is also used for restoring teeth that have chipped, for increasing the size of smaller teeth for aesthetic purposes, and for making the attachments used in clear aligner treatment.
