My First Day in Braces

I am 34 and have had my braces on for 2 weeks. All I have to say is “wow, it really hurt for the first few days”. I could not chew at all so I was on pretty much a liquid diet. On the 6th day I decided that was enough so I ordered a pizza and struggled through eating 2 pieces. It must have taken me an hour to eat them.

After the first week in the wires my doctor decided it was time to put on the elastics. I had all four of my sixes pulled because I didn’t have enough room in my mouth for all of my teeth. So much for everyone telling me all my life that I have a big mouth. :-)  The first night was not bad but when I woke up the next morning I felt pain like I never had in my life. It felt like my teeth were being pulled, which they actually are, every minute of the day. After my 3rd day in elastics things calmed down and now it isn’t so bad.

I must brush my teeth about 6 times a day now. It feels yucky to have anything at all stuck in there after I eat and since I eat about 6 times a day I brush with each meal.

For you single guys out there who are skeptical about getting braces let me tell you they are chick magnets. I have not had so many girls flirting with me in a long time. They think they are cute. I guess it could be the baby blue, pink, and purple ligatures.
