Hi Sonja Mouth is much better today. I don't really bother about my brace now, don't feel any pressure at all on my teeth either. With regards to speech - that has improved a lot not lisping as much as I used to, although when I do presentations for my job it is much more difficult and my mouth gets...

I bought the Oral B Triumph which is great since it has 3 settings on it so when my teeth are sore I can use the gentle setting on it. Find it really useful for cleaning linguals. I haven't seen any ortho attachments for using with this product though.

I have purchased items from orthoshop which is a UK company. Most items you require can normally be purchased from your orthodontist surgery.

I didn't realise that they had different sizes of ligatures which they used instead of changing the wire - interesting.

Sonja
Is your mouth beginning to settle down yet? You seem to be going through hell with your mouth. I know its not a nice experience but I still hope all this pain will be worth it at the end.

Extraction

Just had a tooth extracted yesterday so there is room made to straighten my upper teeth. The pain was worse than what the brace has been - I was in agony with it. Still abit sore today. Beginning to question why the hell am I going through with this. I must be mad.

Closing a gap from extraction

Does anyone know how a gap is closed up after an extraction? Is it just a case of wearing the normal brace or do ortho's have to add other contraptions to the brace?

Lingual Braces

I have lingual top braces and I am getting ceramic lowers in June. I paid around £3800 for my treatment which will take around 2 years. Must admit my ortho is really good and approachable which makes a big difference. I also thought people would treat me different if they found out that I had brace...

Hi Sonja I know what you are going through, I have found it quite hard going especially with the speech but I must admit that 9 days on my speech has improved dramatically and most people can not even detect a lisp unless I point it out to them even though I am aware of it. I found brushing no probl...

It has now been 9 days since having my lingual brace fitted am I am sure that my back teeth have started to move slightly although I am not 100% sure. Day one of getting the braces was fine it was day 3-4 was the worst, but the past 2-3 days for me have been pain free and I am getting so used to th...
