Typical orthodontic treatment time, beginning to end, averages eighteen months. I've done 40 weeks (my full initial treatment). My end result is nowhere near perfect, so my orthodontist has ordered refinements that he estimates will take twenty weeks (~5 months). My wait time on refinements is six w...

A lot of orthodontists are starting to encourage this. After I received my aligners, I was sent home with an information sheet stating, in a bullet point, "You CAN eat with your aligners in!" A week later I was back getting an attachment replaced, and I heard the hygienist next to me stern...

Oh, I should also mention that most orthodontists would probably consider the need for follow-up bonding/crowns/veneers a failure on their part.

I'm currently waiting for refinements and am stuck in the same boat. One of my lateral incisors is much shorter than the other, and it makes everything look off-kilter. My orthodonist's solution was essentially to use the "good" lateral incisor as a model for the rest of the incisors. My c...

Post-Invisalign

I check out my ClinCheck obsessively, and assuming it's accurate, I'm happy with the actual tooth-positioning and straightness of everything, but my gumline will look a little off, as well as the length of certain teeth. I'm concerned that even with my $6000 straight-as-an-arrow teeth, my smile will...

Anyway, one of them has already fallen off again, and when I saw my dentist last Monday he told me that "it's ok"... WEIRD! An attachment fell off my tooth about a month ago. I called right away, and they told me to just wait until my next appointment (almost two months later - July 8th)....

Glad to hear things aren't so horrible anymore. My first trays were the only ones I had pain with. I do switch trays once a week rather than every two weeks, so my experience is a little different. I do have the "tightness" everyone describes with each new aligner, especially once I got th...

Calm down, Othello.

Just a helpful hint to the original poster. No need for World War 3.

I agree with John37. I think even wiggling of the original, unset molds during the molding process could make a difference of something minute like 0.1 mm, which probably wouldn't be much to worry about, but might be enough to cause some pain. I think it's important to note that most users of this m...

I'm on aligner 8/41 (but only 8 weeks in - my treatment plan dictates that I change them weekly, not bi-weekly). Although there is no noticeable change in my teeth yet, here are the benefits: 1. My teeth look whiter with my aligners in. 2. My teeth look straighter and much better in pictures with my...

Do NOT let the little lines fool you! When I first went in for my impressions, they made me a clear retainer that was supposed to mimic the look and feel of Invisalign, so that I could get used to speaking with the Invisalign in. Obviously the retainer had no lines in it and was completely clear. Wh...

I know this is an old thread, but I have attachments on my four front teeth (6, 7, 8, 9). BUT, the attachments are on the BACK of my teeth , thank God. I had never heard of this before, but I believe it's possible to rotate most patients' front teeth this way, as rotation tends to be less severe in ...

Thanks. Looks like everybody has attachments right until the end. Like many others, I've been getting the run-around on my ClinCheck. I've e-mailed my orthodontist every day for a week requesting a copy with no success. My orthodontist is a "Premier Provider Elite" and supposedly the #1 In...
