I had braces for 2.5 years, just had them removed last Monday 4/28/08. I had traditional braces and I smoke, drink red wine, love to eat curry -- basically anything that can and will stain your teeth, I've ingested. During my 2.5 year ordeal, I was overly diligent at flossing and brushing and rinsin...

A Lifelong Project - and well worth it!
I just had my braces removed last week and am also 43. A little late SPAM SPAM SPAMMING, but I knew with the care I give my teeth that falsies were not an option for me no matter what my age! I had some spacing issues and a slight overbite. I wore traditional braces with adjustments every six weeks....

Thank you for your reply. I called and scheduled an appointment for WED morning and hopefully they will be more amenable in person rather than they were over the phone. My reasoning is that the plastic palette should fit flush against the roof of my mouth without my bottom teeth hitting it. Turns ou...

Hang in there. It's not easy being patient, when you wrote the book and sequel on patience. When it comes to braces, better to let it happen on the doctor's schedule even if you feel it's longer than need be. More than likely they know what they are doing. I had mine removed last Monday and it was a...

I'm an adult orthodontia patient, but my orthodontist offers this to kids, or rather the parents of kids, $200 at the graduation of braces to retainers. I had mine removed last Monday after 2.5 years and received a large bag of really good candy and gum and all the things I couldn't eat while in tre...

Hawley Retainer - 1st week after Brace Removal - Help!
Hello. I had my braces removed last Monday (4/28/08). What a feeling! Free at last! Didn't hurt a bit. The same day was fitted for a Hawley Retainer (thin wire) for upper and lower. My problem is that with the retainers in, my bottom teeth hit the upper plastic palatte of the retainer not allowing m...
