Re: Braces Make My lips Huge
Why did it even enter your mind to apologise for the Menorah? Be proud, unashamed and not one bit afraid to be Jewish. If anything, the Menorah is the very Jewish symbol we are directed to publicise.

One bottom tooth anchoring for pulling two top teeth down?
My ortho has give me elastics to pull down my top right lateral incisor and canine by anchoring an elastic to only one bottom tooth.(A canine) Won't the opposite happen?

Re: Are chains still sore if no gaps?
So in retrospect, mine weren't sore, thankfully.

Do night-only elastics work?
I have been given elastics to wear at night for my midline. Has anyone else? Did they work? Should I also sneak them in by day when at my desk alone?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Midline elastic timing.
Hi. Was in linguals for three years and then changed to ceramics three weeks ago. Maybe I'm lucky but even with a relatively toothy smile they are pretty invisible and so much more comfortable than linguals and working faster.

Midline elastic timing.
My midline is off by about 3/4 of the width of a bottom front tooth. I got elastics today to put from upper canine to bottom canine on the other side to wear at night. Anyone know how long the midline takes to move? (obviously each case is different but I'm looking for an average)
Thanks.
Thanks.

Are chains still sore if no gaps?
My ortho chained some of my top and bottom teeth with powerchains today. Many people have said how sore they become the next day. My teeth are close together, so will the chains still be sore?

Wires not fully engaged in new brackets-OK?
Hi All Got ceramic braces today and have noticed that on some teeth the wire is not fully engaged in the slot on the bracket. They used clear ligatures and not that thin wire they sometimes use for ligs but which would have forced the bracket fully on the wire. Is it Okay? Will the ligatures pull th...

Re: HELP, PLEASE! 3 weeks in and significant speech problems
Hi Anait Like you, I would only consider lingual and went ahead. You will note that my username tells it all. However, whilst I saw progress at first, things slowed down and most significantly, my speech never came right. I was always in pain from the irritating brackets and sounded drunk. Also litt...

Re: Changing to ceramics
Ortho has tons of experience. Did my wife's linguals perfectly and finished them ten years ago. I think my case is just better suited to ordinary braces but the linguals have contributed so much to getting me right but reached their limit. From having the ceramics on for about nine hours my teeth ha...

Did it! Went over to the Light Side -Come Join Me!
For all of you that read my previuous posts here: http://www.archwired.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=40477 Today I went to the orthodontist to put ceramics on the bottom instead of the linguals I had that weren't getting too far, but in the preceding days (as you may have read I had had the bo...

Changing to ceramics
After three torturous years of getting relatively nowhere with linguals on the bottom and especially after one premolar refused to move in, my ortho put ceramics on the outside from my right canine to the molar and removed their corresponding lingual brackets, leaving linguals on the front and left ...

Anyone given up lingual and gone conventional?
Hi Fellow Barbwire Hosts I have had lingual braces top and bottom for three years now. I got them mainly for rotated lower canines and a cross bite on one side. My lower arch seems wider than the upper one. Besides never getting fully used to the speech thing, I have seen no progress. The original p...

Stages of Straightening
Hi Anyone know the stages that our teeth are put through to get them right. My two front top teeth were not in a perfect arch and the right one was a bit back as was the incisor next to it. For the first two months of treatment the ortho has been twisting the wire so now they have almost lined up in...

Two weeks in and I still can't speak!
Help! I have taken all the adivice given. Sometimes being hydrated helps and then in some instances too much water seems to make my mouth dry out faster. Wax makes it smoother but takes up valuable longue real estate and so I sound as if my mouth is full. I got this gluey stuff called BraceEaze but ...
