Braced at 46 and they will be off at 48 - June 14th, 2007 is my official debanding date unless a cancellation comes available in May . Ceramic uppers and metal lowers. I consider it one of the best things I have done for myself. The 26 months in braces has flown - there have been no issues with...

I try to exercise every day (alternating between cardio / weights) and have had no problems whatsoever. However, depending on what type of activities you are doing (hockey, skiing, roller blading) - do you not need a mouth guard? I remember seeing a poster at the Ortho's showing various activites an...

I too will be getting veneers when I am done (I hope only 3-4 months more - can't wait). What started this whole process was me wanting to get my teeth whitened. Then I realized I still would not have been happy because my teeth would still be crooked. So... after braces, I will get my teeth profess...

I went through a period where I couldn't find Dental wax at any of the stores here - Walmart, Zellers, Shoppers Drug Mart, etc. Turns out the packaging was being changed. It might be something similar with the floss. If you can't find the Crest floss, try the Oral-B super floss - highly recommend it.

That is what I did Kodius. I paid $1105.00 as a downpayment and and $175.00 per month (starting in April) for a total of $2680 for 2005. I can't remember what the limit was for Revenue Canada - but it worked out in my favour. For 2006... I am going to claim all of my monthly payments for 2006. As I ...

I think perhaps the reason why not a lot of people have looked into this could be that most of us who get braces have health insurance through our work our through a member of our family's work. I think for a lot of people (including me) it would be unthinkable to spend thousands on braces without ...

I can't remember the details (minimum amount needed, %, etc.), but I took all my dental expenses from 2004 (including my Ortho bills and general dental bills that were over and above my what my insurance company covered) and claimed these. Since I work full-time and have a part-time job, I usually e...

Thanks all for your replies (and for the very kind offer Caroline). My mission today was to go through the local yellow pages and call the drug stores. I found an independent one that has lots of dental wax. Even better, they were selling it for $2.29. The last time I got one at Shoppers (maybe a ye...

To my fellow Canadians........
Just curious if any of you are having trouble finding Dental Wax in the stores. I use to purchase it at Shoppers Drug Mart, but they no longer carry it. I have tried Walmart (no luck), Zellers (no luck) and the local grocery stores (no luck). Other than buying it from DentaKit (or another website), ...

I was missing a molar on my upper right side. Since the wisdom tooth was in on that side, the Ortho engaged that tooth and is moving things to the right to close the gap and fix my midline which is too far to the left. The Ortho warned me that it would take a lot of work on my part (elastics, plate ...

Not sure Bucsfan, but it could be a TPA. Do a search here on Archwired and there is a pic posted (http://www.archwired.com/TPA.htm). It is a Trans-Palatial Arch. I am 16 months into treatment and was fitted with one on Tuesday. For me.... it is to hold my molars into place while he moves the teeth -...

I had two teeth that were so close that I couldn't clean them properly. Once my teeth started to straighten I noticed a brown spot on one of the teeth. When I went for a check-up, I asked about it and was told it was Decalcification. She said the other tooth it was resting on was worse than the one ...
