is it worth getting a professional teeth clean prior braces?

I'm considering getting my teeth professionally cleaned at the dentist a week or so before getting my spacers as although my intentions are good, i know once the braces go on dental hygene will be trickier so I'd like to remove any stains and make sure teeth as as clean as possible. However I'm just...

Finally finally getting braced!!!

After registering with this forum a couple of years ago, I'm finally getting braced!!! I have a deep bite and am having damon clear on the uppers and damon metals on the lowers. its 56 euros. I just feel that the ortho took it personally when i sought a second opinion because she had initially said i could come in and she would explain in greater detail due to no computer imaging...and when i mentioned booking in for this second appointment (after she found out I'd got a se...

is this poor service from an orthodontist - refuse bill?

I feel I've received poor service from an orthodontist I saw, but would like the opinion of others because I'm not sure if my expectations of what is bad / good service are a bit unrealistic or I'm being overly fussy re wanting to know exactly what the final result would look like. I went to this or...

new damon treatment : 24 months cut to 8 / 12 months

I do have confidence in the ortho I'm considering how have a tiny nagging doubt regarding how much quicker he reckons he can sort my teeth than the other orthos I've consulted. I have deep bite - hardly an easy case, 2 other orthos have quoted 24 months in metal damons. This ortho has quoted 8 - 12 ...

general anaesthetic while wearing braces (damons)

I should be getting braced this year, but I am also due two operations - one of them being for divated septum which will require a general anaesthetic. I just wondered if anyone else had experience of operations while wearing braces...especially sinus or nose operations. I'm guessing that being brac...

damon clear brackets - are these new?

I recently corresponded with an orthodontist by email who informed me Damon clear brackets would be available in the UK in Jan or Feb next year...I've only just started looking into orthodontics, so I wondered, have these been around a while and perhaps just reaching the UK..or are they brand new?

yes, square jaw can look lovely (not sure it would on me though!) but I'm just trying to anticipate what facial changes might occur...i suppose if the smile is being widened, face might look a little broader...but equally if bite is opened, then one would think face might get a little longer. Hopefu...

what facial changes occur after correction of 'deep bite'

Hi I'm about to start on the long haul project of getting my deep bite corrected with two years of braces. I wonder if anyone who is in the process of getting this done, or who has had it done, could let me know what facial changes can occur. I imagine that as the bite is opened, face lengthens a li...

yes, i agree with all the above - but i think my main fear is due to duration of the treatment, if i do find the braces very obvious, its a long ol' while to live with them - at this point in my life anyway and its so costly, i dont want to risk thinking about quitting. I was hoping six month smile ...

My teeth are perfectly straight and even (individually) and not crooked its just my bite thats out. I've been offered damons for two years - which the orthodontist claims will result ...
