No, I didn't have to do any extractions. To make room for my canines the aligners basically pushed out my front 4 teeth a little and then I wore elastics for a few months to pull my upper jaw inward so that I wouldn't have an overjet. Perhaps you should go to a few more orthos/dentists to get a seco...

Hey, your teeth look pretty similar to mine when I started, except mine were actually quite a bit more fangy. When I was 15 an ortho tried to convince me that Invisalign wouldn't work for me because my canines were protruding too much and recommended traditional braces, but being the superficial kid...

Thanks for the nice responses guys. To myhollywoodsmile: I was given a bleach kit at the beginning of treatment and used about half of it. It worked great but made my teeth super sensitive so I stopped using it. The main reason my teeth look so much whiter in the second pics is due to the camera's f...

Just finished initial treatment (w/pics)

Hey guys. Yesterday I officially completed my initial set of trays (17u, 13l) and got impressions taken for refinements. I figured I would post some before and after pictures because when I first started I was always looking for before/after pics. To give you some background, I'm 22 and my "fan...

I change my trays every two weeks (most people do) but I only see my dentist every eight weeks for checkups. Maybe your dentist forgot to send you home with the next few trays? I actually had to remind the assistant at my dentist's office that I needed trays when I left.

For me it depends on how far I am into each tray. For instance, for the first few days of each new tray I only have them out for an hour to an hour and a half for the whole day. By the end of the two weeks, however, I'll usually have them out for 2.5 - 3 hours a day.

I just moved onto tray 7 and am just starting to notice an improvement. I have a total of 17 aligners on top (13 on bottom) so I'm a little over a 3rd of the way done. I have all my trays at home so I'm able to compare them and I can see that once I get to tray 10 there will be a really big differen...

I drink just about anything with my aligners in, mostly soda though. I've had light colored mixed alcoholic drinks and wine without any staining. I made the mistake of drinking a red "squeeze-it" I found at a gas station on a road trip and that turned my aligners pink. I also had the same ...

I've gotten extremely lazy with my aligners. For the first couple of aligners I brushed my teeth religiously after ever meal or snack. Now...not so much. I generally do a quick brush when I wake up and a thorough brush at night and thats it. It between time I'm at college and go straight to work so ...

To be honest, from up close they are slightly noticeable, but not in a bad way. I've had invisalign for about a month and a half and noone has noticed them until I've told them. At that point I always get the "Nuh Uh" reaction and then they get right up in my face for a closer look. So I d...

My speech problem went away almost immediately. I remember when I first put them in at the doctor's office I felt like I was wearing one of those teeth guards that boxer's wear. I couldn't imagine ever being able to talk the same. However, I work on the phones all day and by the next day I had my sp...

My dentist is a premier provider who handles a lot of cases but still doesn't know how to send me my clincheck via email. I asked about getting a copy a few days ago and their response was that they've never had anyone ask for it before and they'll "look into it". I know several people on ...

My midline is off quite a bit and my dentist will supposedly be fixing this with invisalign. All looks well on my clincheck but I'm still rather skeptical of my dentist's plan. I will be wearing rubberbands but this will be to fix an overjet and has nothing to do with the midline correction.

I've been needing to get braces since I was a kid but never wanted to have them. All of my older sisters got braces at the ages of about 12, but my mom couldn't afford mine until I was about 14. By then I was about to start highschool and braces were out of the question. My mom made several ortho ap...
