i know it's only in terms of mm but I do think to much was taken off. I have a prominent nose too, bulbous almost and I didn't realize the teeth/nose/face relation til after he did the ipr. i always just zoned in on the teeth.

Too much IPR- can't get used to skinny front incisor shape

I had IPR done on my front incisor- 2 front teeth and I am not liking the shape of the teeth. My teeth before were rounded trapezoidal shape and the biggest part of the trapezoid shape covered the side incisors. I had IPR done to make room for the front teeth to go in more..make it less protruding i...

It does bother me that he acts that way. I was even thinking of having another orthodontist do the filing, but I think that would anger him some more. I think i'll just ride it out. This site should have reviews for orthodontists, I would definitely write one about him.

Angry Orthodontist with power drill!

I am nearing the end of my treatment and ortho wanted to shave/file my teeth down so they would fit better in the upper arch. I had some apprehension about this because the tool he pulled out was a circular disk that's supposed to attach to a power drill and rotate it. I asked him if he needed to ta...

i would have definitely ask for a 2nd ortho's opinion. Teeth does give your face structure. A lot of people will say otherwise but from my own experience, a few millimeters of tooth movement will give your face a different look. Think of old people and how their face collapses when they take their d...

I guess i what to hear what other people have gone through and if anyone has had the same problem as me and what their ortho suggested and what they ended up doing to fix the problem. My ortho has placed in bends and fiddles with different wires wrapped around the brackets, powerchain off and then o...

Constructive criticism wanted: Pics included!

Heading towards the end of my treatment. No matter what the ortho has done,my upper right center tooth just does not want to be straight. And my upper arch does not meet my bottom arch at the front 4 teeth. I have included pics and would really like constructive criticism. Please ignore the non-whit...

first and second bicuspid not at 90 degrees meeting bottom

During my treatment, I had an expander on my uppers and the teeth reacted by by tipping outwards at a 45 degree angle. Now that the expander is off, my 1st and 2nd bicuspid are not back to the 90 degree angle that they were and they do not meet the teeth completely at the bottom. I wear rubber bands...

Are you guys experiencing sunken in faces.

This question is for invisalign wearers. Are you experiencing the same sunken in face effect as the traditional braces wearers?

Alot of the people in the metal mouth board are experiencing sunken faces, prominent cheek bones, etc.

Any feedback would help us solve this problem.

for me i don't think i was my bite. my bite was good on my right side when I had chubby cheeks and now it hasn't changed much bite wise and it looks pretty sunken in. I have a small mouth and it had to over come much bracket and wire space to properly close. regardless of why, i'm now looking into w...

I've posted a couple of times about this issue and I too would love to hear from people who has their braces off and regained their full face again. But this is my theory...You get your braces on and the first day it seems like you can't properly close your mouth with your lips touching. Gradually a...

Here is a link about a reply from someone who sounds like they know what they're talking about. My orthodontist just seems to shake his head and say I don't know what's going on when I ask him. The person asking the question is not me, I just googled "jutting cheekbones due to braces." htt...

I'm still not convinced. How can the thinning of faces be due to the 1-2 mm of wire and bracket space?

I wish i never got braces. major regret. I need a time machine!
