Re: Spare Essix tight?

Well perhaps they do because of the constant friction of taking them in and out.. but what worries me is that these new retainers are supposed to be a mould of my teeth as they are now and when I put them in they are ridiculously tight and feel like they are putting a lot of pressure on my front tee...

Spare Essix tight?

I was debraced about 2 months ago. I have been fitted with perm retainers upper and lower and essix upper and lower. So far so good. Last app I asked if I could have a spare set made incase I lose my originals. My orth took moulds and sent them off. When they came back the lowers fit perfect but the...

Re: How are people coping with permanent retainers?

I can't believe people are complaining about bonded retainers! I'm on my 2nd time in braces, well actually just had the off wohoo! The first time I had those horrible removable things that make you speak really badly and have a wire across the front of your teeth. Now I have these bonded which put m...

Re: Am I being paranoid? (Pics)

Looks like it was because the little elastic had popped off! I sat down and he noticed it straight away, I'm sure it wasn't like that when I originally noticed but now looking at the pic it does look like it had popped off..

Wohoo back on track :D Thanks guys.

Re: Am I being paranoid? (Pics)

Hey thanks it's nice to hear someone else has noticed it, I'll definitely let him know now. I wish they were staying on! This is my 2nd time in braces and I am dreading them moving back, so scared they will :( I am looking forward to the bottoms being removed because they make my lips feel huge but ...

Re: Am I being paranoid? (Pics)

He did ask me, he asks me everytime I go, but to be honest I never really looked at the lower teeth, my uppers were mainly the concern.. It's only after he said 'We can get you debraced next appointment!' that I went home and really started to inspect all my teeth.. I just don't know whether I'm bei...

Am I being paranoid? (Pics)

So my braces are due to be removed in 6 weeks time, I have upper linguals and lower ceramic. Now I am happy with how they look, they are 100% better than before, but I'm super paranoid that they aren't perfect. My bottom teeth seem to have one that is slightly off.. to me it seems that way anyway......

Yeah I saw my regular dentist and he said just ring and book in and he can even them out and sort out the chip so it seems like it's easily sorted!

Sorry another post, no edit button! I noticed you are getting ceramic lowers, in my experience these were much worse than the linguals! So if you get through having those on easily enough the linguals will be a breeze. The ceramics feel really big in your mouth at first and rub your lips, nothing ho...

Re-reading that eating part it sounds like I meant they are a bit of a pain when eating, they really aren't, you can eat anything but I just take extra care if I'm tearing tough meat or biting into something hard, I've not had any broken brackets or bent wires yet and I think it's down to taking a l...

Hi Lu lu thanks for the kind words :) My experience with my incognito braces has been amazing. I forgot they were there after a few weeks, well sort of because you don't feel them but you rush to the mirror every morning to check for movement haha. My speech was very good even on day one, slight lis...

Overdue update!

Can't believe how fast time has gone since I got these things on! 16 months between the two pictures. I have Incognito braces (iBraces) coupled with lower ceramics, cost me £6k total. I had upper and lower lingual braces 7 years ago for about a year. I think it was worth the effort but am not sure if I wouldn't rather go for regular ones next time. I was practically unable to speak for about a day when I had the upper ones fitted. It was terrible. I couldn't even ask people for ...
