Lig fading question
Do some colour ligs seem to fade or stain faster then others. I've had a lot of different colours since I've been braced. I think the fastest to fade/stain was the orange ones I had for halloween. Red ones seemed to stain fairly quickly as well. I think the yellows and pink ones I've had seemed to s...

Re: broken brackets
I My question is, should I take the bracket with me or will they use a new one? My husband said because of sanitary issues, they would most likely use a new one? I took my old bracket with me, but when I go there the assistant said it was no good so I threw it in the garbage. Different dentists mig...

Thats how I felt in the beginning, that my teeth and mouth weren't clean enough. I bought a oral-b electric toothbrush, it made a big difference. I bought Aquafresh extreme clean toothpaste and it really makes my mouth feel a lot cleaner. Then I bought a waterpik! WOW. That made a big difference as ...

Congrats on getting debraced. I am waiting anxiously to hear those words too. I am using September as my very latest debraced date but I am hoping at the lastest it will be August or even earlier. My cousin is getting married in August and I would love to be able to go to the wedding without braces....

Thanks everyone! I really don't feel bad about, just a bit bummed. I was hoping to go through my whole treatment without breaking anything. (I have about another 6 months) Actually my dentist is usually quite surprised when I go in every month that I hadn't broken anything. I the chicken strip was o...

Your expander sounds a lot like the one I had. You will get used to it, just give it time. I used to take out mine when I was on the phone. I think I would feel so self conscious of it when I was on the phone I would make myself lisp more. I think the longest I had my expander out was probably 4 hou...

Sign.. a chicken strip ruined my day
I got braced 11 1/2 months ago. Never broke a bracket or a wire.. that is until today. I was happily chewing on a chicken strip when I heard the dreaded SNAP. oh no I thought! Please don't let it be what I think it was! I've heard other snapping noises before but nothing ever broke. I pit out the ch...

I bought myself a waterpik last week . . . though I still haven't mastered it yet. What do you do with all that water in your mouth. It's like WHOA - turn off the machine, spit - and repeat 15 times..... Is there an easier way??? :pinkbraces: All I do now is lean over the sink with my mouth ...

I broke down and got my waterpik! Wow what a difference. Its amazing the bits of food that get dislodged even after I brush. The first time I tried it was a big funny though. I filled it up, leaned over the sink, turned it on and WHOOSH the ceiling got sprayed with the water LOL. I also soaked the w...

Water pik question!
I've been thinking about getting a waterpic but I am still not sure if it would be worth it. I am only going to have braces for another 6 months or so. Is a water pik something I'd use after my braces come off? Please help me make a decision soon! I also have a permanent bite blocker behind my top f...

Argh! What have I gotten myself into!
For the first 10 months of being braced I only had them on top. I had an expander and a retainer (both I could remove) on my lower teeth that fit together to help fix my jaw and overbite. Had very little pain or discomfort while doing the expanding or any pain from the top braces (last 2 teeth on ea...
