Lauren, your teeth look beautiful and you will be happy with whatever type of ceramic brace that you get. I have a similar problem with my maxillary midline being shifted to one side; no one seems to notice but it is really noticeable to me. I have to say that, after going through a year and a half ...

Perth Lad, your teeth are looking awesome, you must be pumped. It's good that you are getting your head around being an adult with braces, I think that it the most difficult step of the whole procedure. Good luck with your journey.

Alright, it has been one week since I had braces put on. It has definitely been challenging to get used to having foreign objects attached to my teeth. It has been a greater struggle to overcome my insecurities and fear of others opinions than it has been to get used to the feeling of the braces in ...

the grand tale of viciousgiraffe: week 1 update (PICS)

So, after 32 trays of invisalign, I am now braced. Clarity SL on top, and basic self-ligating victory brackets on the bottom. Check out my story/before pictures on this thread: http://www.archwired.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=27304&highlight=trays+invisalign+braces Here is a post invisalign, pre ...

Thanks for the words of inspiration alex. Its good to know that there are other people my age in the same situation; I've seen a handful of braces college aged people on this site. To update everyone on my situation: I had a consultation with my orthodontist and expressed my concerns and thoughts ab...

Thanks for all the comments. I feel much more comfortable about the prospect of having braces. I really don't know why my ortho recommended invisalign in the first place as he is a Premier Provider. Anyway, I have an appointment on August 12th and will either get braced then or soon thereafter. I'm ...

Thank you for you insight landela, purpleteeth and iBorg. I guess braces really aren't as big of a deal as I am projecting them to be. As for why my ortho didn't recommend braces in the first place: I think he either misevaluated my case or just hoped that I would be satisfied with the results that ...

32 invisalign trays completed, time for braces?

So after about 15 months of treatment I am on my last tray of invisalign (32 of 32 upper, 11 of 11 lower). To be honest I am disappointed with the results. My bite has seen minimal improvement, and I feel my teeth still have a long way to go. I brought up my concerns about my treatment with my ortho...

I am using invisalign and also have a midline problem. My maxillary (upper) midline is a little more than half a tooth to the right. I am currently on my second to last upper tray (31 of 32) and have seen only very slight improvement. This study shows that people usually will not notice a midline di...
