Re: Recovery time?
3 weeks should be all you need. I start my first day of my last semester tomorrow and I had surgery just over 3 weeks ago. I could have started school with only 2 weeks rest but the extra week has me pretty much back to normal.

Re: December 2011 Surgery Buddies??
I was told I could begin drinking through a cup as soon as I could pull it off. I found it easier and way quicker than a syringe. I was banded shut for about 5 days and started drinking with a little cup on day 3

Day 9: http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t69/culturedrecords/IMAG0310.jpg I am still pretty swollen in my cheeks and bottom lip. Everything has changed dramatically. I have been taking pictures of my phone the entire recovery process and I am contemplating making an before and after recovery thread.

Re: December 2011 Surgery Buddies??
Awags,
Relief is coming I promise. I didn't start to settle down until day 7. I'm on day 8 and feel like I am managing everything fairly efficiently.
Keep fighting y'all. I'm ready for the one month mark just as much as much as you.

I grabbed a few of the apple juice cups they give you for eating when we left, and right when i got h...

Re: Bumps on roof of mouth
I'm 4 days out and still dealing with this a bit. I imagine that it was the tube that goes down your throat. They are getting better every day. Hopefully in a day or so they will totally be gone.

Re: December 2011 Surgery Buddies??
I had an upper le forte 3 piece on 13 dec. So far everything has gone as expected. Breathing sucks but afrin helps alot. Eating is going good, I like broths and protein shakes the best so far. I tried a tomato basil soup and all the basil clogged up my braces so that didn't work to well. Luckily I ...

Bingebag: If several orthodontists told you that further down the line your teeth will wear down because of your bite, isn't that functional? To be honest, I never really considered it functional because I felt it was just kind of bs. Im buying into the program, so considering this a reason, is def...

to the OP, just curious since you haven't brought it up, do you feel any physical discomfort because of your bite? Or do you have habits, like eating habits or something, that you notice other people don't do? It seems the cosmetic is more important to you at this point, but maybe if you find out m...

Helen I had to take a few with my SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM HEY THERE SPAMMER HA HA seconds ago, because any picture I have ever seen of myself in profile has been deleted, b...

Wondering what a neutral party thinks of my jaw (PICS!)
I am in serious thought about doing the jaw surgery. I am told that, its not worth get braces if I don't get the Jaw surgery because my teeth won't fit together right with my under-bite by the orthodontist. I talked to the surgeon and family members and they are all bias, so what I am asking is do y...
