Shame the forum locked for a while as I was going to keep this thread updated with progress but I'll try to just do a little update now! I thought everything had been going well. At the end of the first week he was properly smiling, talking more clearly, eating well etc. In the second week, his swel...

Aww, I had a good giggle at the expense of my bf about the drooling! I think it got better from about Day 4 or 5 when I started to notice a little more movement in his bottom lip. He didn't get feeling back in it yet but like FuzzyPants said, I think it gets easier as the swelling goes down. What wa...

Hey there, glad you're doing ok. My boyfriend had the same surgery and also didn't have bands for the first week. Are you not getting them put on at all? They also didn't use ice at the hospital because the nurses told us it's not actually proven to do anything! That seemed odd to me but his swellin...

I'm glad too! I had been coming here since the summer in preparation for my boyfriend's surgery and then when he actually has the op, the board closes and he ends up having unexpected problems I couldn't find the answer to in the search function! Good luck! I bet the waiting feels like forev...

This is something that varies on a surgeon by surgeon and case by case basis. For example, if I remember rightly, Brandyleigh went home post-op with no bands whatsoever Hm, I just looked this up and it seems like she didn't have bands because she had some other kind of fixation. My boyfriend has ju...

Ooh not to worry about the heat question (if anyone was!!). I found some clearer info just by searching the forum instead. Seems alternating between hot and cold might be a good idea, but think we'll wait a little while before trying it to be on the safe side lol.

Yeah he said he was really confused until I assured him the nurse would come and make him feel better if he pushed his orange button!! Day 3 has gone well. The swelling is a little better again. He is still feeling a little nauseous but we got some medicine which will hopefully help :) He's been occ...

Re: 24 hours post op

So I made it through surgery!! It started yesterday at 11 and I had upper, lower, genio, septioplasty, reduction of turbinates, and removal of all wisdom teeth. But, apart from that, you didn't have much done, huh? Wow - you went for the full package deal there!!! And, especially considering that, ...

Thanks so much for your sweet replies!! He's just had Day 2 and has been managing to talk loads, I am so surprised at how well he can. He is a bit mumbly but he always has been lol so it's not really too much different! He even managed to phone me in the middle of last night! He had a sleep walk to ...

Wow, you look great! The swelling seems to be going down really quickly. My boyfriend's having the same surgery just before Christmas so it's encouraging to see the pics, thanks. Just wondering if you have a before photo? How tightly banded have you been for this first week, do you have much movemen...
