I personally think it is great that you don't look super different, yet your bite problems are fixed. It is psychologically easier that way. Oh how I wish my results were as subtle as yours! Great improvement for you. Perfect I would say.

Naranja: I believe it is important for you to be able to communicate with your orthodontist and for him to spend the time to answer your questions, especially since you are on the surgery route! It will only more uncomfortable for you to assert yourself later. You do not want to prolong your braces ...

Pics would be helpful. I would not recommend surgery if you don't need it functionally. Maybe wait until your braces are off and other oral treatment is done and see then. You can always get genio later since it isn't really connected to your ortho treatment like jaw surgery. You never know, you mig...

Trust me, I know all about the emotional roller coaster. Sometimes you get a glimpse in the mirror and you say "oooh" maybe it looks pretty good... and the next view in the mirror is a disaster. You keep telling yourself that you are still swollen, but don't believe it sometimes and think....

I'm so jealous. I can wait for the 4 month mark! I would love to know if you feel like your face changes any when you remove the braces.

Congrats on being able to brush all over your teeth, lick them and having no more stuck food! Wowow! Would love to see pics!

I am getting un-rubberbanded in 2 days (this Monday) after 4 weeks and 3 days of being banded completely shut. I had upper jaw surgery (moving the upper jaw forward) and lower jaw surgery (moving the lower jaw back with no screws). I am leaving for a short trip beginning Wednesday night. Since I'll ...

I'm getting my bands cut in 3 days (after 4 weeks and 3 days of being banded shut). I get to have soft foods thereafter. Yay fish and mashed potatoes, etc. At first I didn't think I could make it. But then 3 to 4 weeks just went by and I'm going to be "freed" in just a few days. My trick w...

Wow - Azzanet - I just posted a similar message today. I am 4 weeks post-op and have most of your same complaints. I plan to have a discussion with my surgeon and ortho about the aesthetics and see what they say. I'll keep you posted. I also plan to do the lymphatic drainage as suggested. Maybe we c...
