I have removable braces. They look just like regular retainers only mine dont have any plastic. I keep them in all the time unless I am eating. I have had them for about 5 months and have seen dramatic change in my teeth. It is pretty amazing. I had regular braces for 3 months prior with a different...

Going to the first ortho I met with. Huge mistake. After the convincing sales pitch of "a family practice" I learned they were an assembly line of braces offering no speicialized or individual treatment. Spent $2k to learn this lesson.

Crozat method (removable braces/retainers)

After a few months in traditional braces only on my bottom teeth and having a horrible experience with my ortho I was ready to rip off the brackets myself. I had heard of removable braces/retainers because one of my friends had done it but I was really skeptical. I posted here to see if anyone knew ...

Meryaten- yep. Thats exactly what I am getting. And of course- to each his/her own! Some methods work better for some conditions and lifestyles. I have some crowding, no jaw or bite problems and I wanted to make my smile perfect, but also I am a cute girl in my 20's so I didn't want to sacrifice tha...

The appliance is similar to a metal retainer with metal on both sides and no plastic. The Dr tweaks the metal during each visit to move teeth. The benefit is that with this method overcrowding is solved by widening the arch as opposed to extraction or shaving the teeth.

Yes, I always stick my fingers in fire when celebrities do it! And I would jump off a bridge too! I am sure most people get what I am saying- that celebrities have more money than us and also have handlers that would expose them too the best and most cutting edge technologies. So that's why I mentio...

Yeah- my friend did it with this orthodontist and after her treatment she hardly ever wears her retainer and her teeth are perfectly straight. Apparently everything moves the same as with traditional braces. Funny thing is I saw a celebrities name in the sign in sheet which the receptionist confirme...

Yes, this is probably the most pain I have ever experienced. The Dr drilled 4 lower teeth to little nubs and there was a smoke/burning bone smell coming from my mouth. I almost puked. Then I looked like Amy Winehouse for a few weeks until my teeth came together. There is still so much sensitivity be...

Crozat Method?? (Removable braces)

I am about to move to an orthodontist who does the Crozat method. It is basically like a retainer without the plastic and is removable. (YAY!) I currently have ceramic braces on my lower teeth and WAS going to get lingual braces on my upper teeth- but a friend told me about this and it sounds way wa...
