I order wax from the following website - http://www.orthostore.co.uk/ which was fine. I am a nearly 3 months in but have stopped wearing it all together. I was wearing wax all the time in the beginning but started to cut back on it to let my mouth get used to the metal and now do not need it at all....

wire across gaps

Hi on my gaps at the top - i have a small plastic tube across the wire but do not seem to have this on the gaps at the bottom.

And the wire at the bottom seems to be really cutting my tongue.

Does anyone know what the plastic is for? And should i have this at the bottom as well.

Cheers

xTc - I was worst with the uppers (ibraces) but I think that was because I was just not aware of how the braces would feel! and was only on soups and smoothies for the first few days so lack of food did not help either. I did not have any speach problems though and no one has noticed. The few friend...

Hi all

I am having a bad day today - not sure why but back brace is still cutting up my tongue plus had 2 tooth extractions this week and gums feel really weird like they are caving in!

I get the bottom brace fitted in a week and 1/2 and am wondering is it all worth it?? :(

hang in there - I felt bad for the first week but have my top ones on for 13 days now and feel so much better now. Mash potato is a good thing to eat if you are fed up of soups and smoothies as well as pasta and sauce. all the best

I was not too bad the first couple of hours afterwards but I ony had the top fitted not both at the same time. It is day 2, 3 and 4 are the worst due to your tongue being cut up by the wires so yes definitely wax as this helps but it does take some time to get use to putting the wax on. I was given ...

I am feeling better tonight but did manage to eat some sweet potato mash and Veg Chilli. The Veg was cut up into really small pieces so did not really have to chew and the sweet potato mash is soft so no need to chew either but because it is quite filling I feel much better. The right hand bracket r...
