Hello! I have a spring retainer to push out a single tooth. even after 3 years of being in braces the crowded teeth wouldnt budge so im finishing treatment with a retainer. However, the retainer causes a small gap. Will the spring be later removed after the tooth has moved enough?

I think you are letting nerves get the best of you. I even highly doubt you would need surgery or extractions based on the pictures. With this whole talk of extractions, Ive been reading some other things about how braces, especially in adults, can cause bone loss? Is that true? Anyone ever hear of that happening. Some people on a different forum also suggested that perhaps its also from the retainer constantly resting on the tee...

Yes its normal. Ouch! There were times my bite was so bad it would slip and i would knock my teeth together. That hurt!! But its all okay now, thanks to retainers.
