Re: 30 year old - starting braces journey for the 1st time

I've got a plate as well. In my case, it is about opening the bite' as I have a deep bite. My speech was affected, but I think I got back to about 80% normal. There's no hiding that something's going on, but your speech will settle down after a couple of weeks. Hang in there.

Good luck. I hope this is the last time you have to do this.

Re: Here we go again...

First appointment since the brace. And a wire change. Apparently this wire is an '18'. Thicker maybe? I'm sure these white archwires work for some people, but I reckon that I'd be better off with some kind of grey/yellow combo. Seriously, this new wire is neon-white, like only Simon Cowell's teeth. ...

Here we go again...

Hi. I'm from the UK. This week I got braces to address various issues with my bite. It's not the first time for me, as I had a treatment as a teenager, as well as aligners a couple of years ago. The aligners neatened up my top teeth a bit, but didn't really do much for the deep bite I have. Recently...

Re: Inman aligners

So, today was D-Day. I am home and three hours in. Can't really cope with words beginning with either d or t strangely enough. I guess I expected to struggle with s sounds rather than these. Tomorrow I am off on holiday, so should hopefully have a week to get used to the brace before I take the plun...

Re: Inman aligners

Can't quite believe what I have done today. After years of prevaricating, and wearing various retainers/ night braces as a palliative measure, I've gone into the dentist for a simple check-up, made a simple enquiry about the IA, and half an hour later was sitting with the molds in my mouth, and sign...

Bionator

Hi, I'm 32, and have always had a deep bite which needed fixing, but been too cowardly to go for the braces. On moving to Switzerland, I've been to a new dentist who has suggested a'bionator' as some kind of brace that i can wear at night and will help. It all sounds like a great idea, as something ...
