My most sincere apologies. I had meant to be helpful, and not condescending. I misjudged from the part of the face in the photo that I saw that you were possibly about 16 years of age, and asking for help. I saw that no one else had responded, and so I had wanted to be of service to what I thought w...

I know that the surgeons etc. will not perform the surgery without the x-rays. So, IMHO, it is worth the slight risk to have the necessary work done. I have heard that you can offer yourself some slight protection against the radiation by taking Vitamin C, but I don't know if that is a myth or if th...

I meant to add that I notice that your midlines are not lined up yet...that is the space between your front top teeth should be lining up with the space between your bottom front teeth, maybe not perfectly, but they should be pretty close...

I think it's really hard to tell with frontal photos, since some of this is about lower jaw advancement. Do you have profile shots? I know that orthos sometimes have long-term plans that don't make sense unless they explain things. I think you should ask to meet with your ortho (maybe not at your re...

I am sorry to hear about all the distress that you are going through, although as I read your most recent post in this thread, I think the venting and support are helping you to feel a little better. I hope that you will be able to feel at peace about all of this soon. Take some time and pamper your...

I agree with what everyone has said here. My son had had braces when he was around 12-ish to try to "fix" his problem. Didn't work, so at 18 he had to go through braces again and then the surgery. (He's 19 now, and is so glad that it is successfully done and over with!) I wish we had under...

Of course you're not too old! I'd suggest to be sure to speak with a qualified surgeon about what you want done, have realistic expectations, and then go for it. BTW, I have not heard of Dr. Super. ?

I'm assuming you are going to be having surgery? Most people get scared before surgery--you're being totally normal! :D But now you just need to put some faith in the surgeon and the people who will be attending...just do what they tell you to do....and soon this will all be over and you will be on ...

Having something nourishing to eat/drink can really make a difference in how you feel! It doesn't sound like you have any zip-n-squeeze bags, but could you maybe blend up some food and put it in the syringe? (I'm assuming you got one after the surgery.) It's not as easy as the bags, but whatever it ...

My son had a different surgery than yours, so this may not help too much. He had a BSSO for functional purposes, and it was totally worth it. It did improve his physical appearance as well, although I don't know if he would have gone through all of that just for cosmetic purposes. However, it seems ...

I'm so sorry to hear of all the trouble you have been experiencing. In my humble opinion, I think your situation sounds hopeful. Since your dr. is taking a wait and see approach, maybe he thinks there is just some strain on the TMJ joint, and that after a few weeks the pain will go away. I hope it a...

My son's braces come off tomorrow!

Hi all, just a happy day coming up tomorrow...his braces will be off, and it will just about be the end of the journey. He is really looking forward to it! He had BSSO lower jaw advancement with chin implant. We have also talked with the surgeon, who may be willing to "switch out" the smal...

I'm pretty sure that they aren't out of business...seriously, the nurse who invented it/runs the business really just seems to care about people, especially jaw surgery patients. Unless you're desperately in need of your products right now, I think you can be pretty comfortable waiting for them.
