Peanuts

I eat just about anything, but I'm just real careful about the ones they warned you about. I usually chew the tricky foods like nuts and popcorn on my back teeth. I haven't had any problems for the first 4 months I've had my braces until a few days ago a wire came off or broke. I was brushing my tee...

Shocked at first!

I was shocked at first because they didn't look like the ones on the set they show you as a sample, but I got used to them real fast! I was self-concious at first, but once people get over the initial shock of seeing them on you, they forget about them. I'm amazed at how fast they've moved my teeth....

Update!

My first adjustment/wire change went great at 10 weeks. My ortho was shocked at how much my teeth had moved. They changed the wire and said to come back in 10 weeks again. I too have been amazed at the quick movement. My very crooked bottom teeth are almost straight after only 10 weeks since I was braced. I too show everyone who I think might be the least bit interested my progress, I'm sure my family and friends are sick of it!

My husband uses throat sprays but I think they're yucky! I've had my braces for 10 weeks and have had two colds within that time. I went ahead and used cough drops anyway as I've never had a problem with wanting to bite into them.

Time Between Ortho Visits

I just got my braces about a week ago. Doing good. My ortho said my treatment time would be about 18 mos. more or less. The only thing is, I was told on my first visit that there would be 10 weeks between adjustments/visits. I was shocked because I thought that I would have to go every month or six ...
