Yep, I have my essix retainer that just has a tooth sitting in it. So when I take it out, the tooth comes too  My reason for ever getting braces was too move my teeth into position for the implant. My ortho suggested starting the implant treatment when i got the space open enough (per my surgeo...

I understand exactly what you are going through. I am missing my left lateral incisor and am going through the whole braces/implant thing. I wore my braces for 14 months to align my teeth back into the right spots and make room for my new one. I just got my braces off and I go back next week to have...

I just got my braces off last week and have a similiar situation. I am missing my left lateral incisor (the tooth next to my front). My whole point of getting the braces was to open the space up, get my other teeth in the right position and then get a dental implant done in that space. While braces ...

I just recently got my braces off (a week ago :) ) and I wore them for 14 months. My right lateral incisor (next to my front tooth) is a crown and I had no problems at all w/ it. Of course I was nervous the braces were going to pop it off but really the only challenge I had was keeping the bracket a...

I had a implant done back in November and it really was not a bad experience at all! i was expecting so much worse. i did go w/ the iv sedation because i have a needle paranoia but besides that i woke up w/ little pain. i also had a bone expansion done at the same time. this is like a bone graft but...

My implant surgery cost 2,400 (that was the surgery/anesthia and all follow up appts) BUT that doesn't count the actual crown that will be put on at the end which the surgeon won't do but my dentist will. that will be another 1,300. All in all about 3,700. Luckily my braces were 3,000 (I only needed...

unfortunately my dental insurance did not pay anything for the implant surgery. they consider it cosmetic!!! all though i have heard occasionally some places will so i would definetley check on it. they also did not cover the anesthia during the procedure because it was associated w/ that surgery. g...

I completely understand your fear. I actually have a crown on my right lateral incisor(the one next to my front tooth, my left incisor is my other problem area :? ) and i was very worried about the whole process of braces w/ that. It actually has been just fine. I have had the braces on 9 months now...

Yes the ridge expansion is when they go in and widen the bone. Basically (sounds terrible) but they go into the middle of the bone w/ a tool and open it up. The surgeon said this works well because it requires your bone to regenerate itself with in that space instead of trying to graft the area w/ o...

I have the same missing lateral. And your right it's genetics! Of course my other teeth never shifted all the way over and closed the spaces. So I had a few which was why I had my braces put on. The ortho moved everything back into correct place to make room for a implant. This seemed like the best ...

It does make me feel better to hear about others going through the same thing. I was really worried about the whole implant process but very pleasently surprised the actual surgery was not bad at all. of course i did opt for the IV sedation. I didn't want to be hearing anything and it was great. Not...

Implant surgery while braced....

I have currently had my braces on for 9 months. I had the braces put on to close several small spaces and open one large, this is where I am missing a tooth. It is my front left lateral incisor. I had it pulled as a child and it was never replaced w/ a adult tooth. So my plan was to have implant sur...

Ok, so i know you posted this story awhile ago but i just came across it. I recently had implant surgery done (2 weeks ago) on my left lateral incisor. I actually had to have a bone expansion done at the same time due to the lack of bone and they placed the implant so now it's just healing. It sound...
