Upper jaw surgery - through nose??

Hi I've had my braces on for almost a year and I'm close to being given my surgery date. I recently met the surgeon and he told me they would move my upper jaw forward 5mm and up 2mm. He said they would also have to make an incision through the top of my nose (just below between my eyes) which would...

Just had NHS consultation - thoughts??

I had x rays taken and I would need an upper jaw advancement to correct my bite. Now previously I said my main motive for having surgery was the fact that I had a slight lisp and that affected my confidence. I also added that when I eat food that uses the back teeth it aches a lot. What I did NOT me...

Hi descantus,

Could you please give me a rough idea of how much it would cost privately?

I've searched the internet all over and the prices vary hugely.

Hope everything goes alright for you!

Hi, thanks for your reply! My dentist really didn't seem to have a clue what she was talking about, she told me there was no such thing as upper jaw surgery. My doctor didn't seem too clued up on the subject either. My dentist offered me to have a chat with an orthodontist which I am going to go ahe...

Surgery in the UK.

Hey everyone,

I noticed there are some people here who have had or are going to have surgery based in the UK.

Does anyone have any idea how much it would cost, if not done on the NHS.

I have been told I can not have this done on the NHS as I am over 18.

I have a class 3 malocclusion.

Thanks!
