Good on you, Lushpulp! When I was post-op, I was delighted to note the wide variety of pastas and sauces available in grocery stores. Gnocchi are really easy to eat, and even in the early stages of returning to chewing, pasta itself is not too difficult, especially if you overcook it just very slig...

My oral surgeon told me no mouthwash at all even the perioxide. I have been swishing with warm salt water and then brush as well as I can with the baby toothbrush. it's annoying. I have to keep taking wax out and then back in again cause the hooks are so annoying in my swollen mouth.

I am more proof that insurance does approve this surgery! The first submission was denied because there was no molds showing a deformity. Well the OS asked my OD to send over her molds and x-rays and waa-la it was approved! so you can get insurance to approve this!

Hi dayeangphurr, I hope when you do tell your parents that they end up being more supportive then you expect. I agree with those that advise to let your parents know that this will be for functional reasons vs. cosmetic reasons. I was lucky in that most of my family has been supportive. My husband a...

zip 'n' squeeze do I need?

I am having lower jaw advancement but won't be banded or wired shut. Should I bother with getting zip 'n' squeeze bags?
i have a collection of water bottles that have the squirt top so I was just going to use those to squeeze liquids in if i can't open my jaw much the first few days.
