That's great cathykay! Congrats on starting the braces journey! Many people say the spacers are the worst part, so that's wonderful you haven't had any pain. I'd imagine that if you didn't feel pain by now you probably won't.

I agree with Megan. If you're going to be getting ceramic, it is probably not a bad idea. I whitened mine (not professional - just using white strips) in the weeks leading up to getting braces to be sure my sapphire brackets would look their best.

Congrats on getting started with your braces. The first step is the hardest - making the decision and jumping in - the rest will be pretty easy, even the spacers and the bands. And if you do have any concerns along the way this forum will offer lots of support!

YES!! It's been almost three weeks for me and I think you hit the nail on the head saying it feels like a mouth full of marbles. I'm a bit lispy, and if I get even a little dehydrated, it feels like my tongue is twice its normal size.
