I will join the April thread too because I could really use some advice/encouragement/voices of reason right now. I have had my braces on since December 2008. If you read my early posts, I was miserable at the beginning. I have lingual braces with two pontics (fake teeth) in place of my lateral inci...

Re: Invisalign and pontic?

Sorry about the triple post. I wasn't sure how to edit the post, but I meant my lateral incisor teeth.

Re: Invisalign and pontic?

I am almost done with my lingual braces and I am about to get one crown on an implant lateral incisor tooth and a flipper for another tooth which will get an implant later. Once my braces are removed, I will have an Invisalign retainer with a pontic (fake tooth) put into the appliance. I will have ...

Invisalign and pontic?

I am almost done with my lingual braces and I am about to get one crown on an implant canine tooth and a flipper for another tooth which will get an implant later. Once my braces are removed, I will have an Invisalign retainer with a pontic (fake tooth) put into the appliance. I will have a flipper ...

I have two pontics (fake teeth) glued onto brackets and then fastened to my wires right now. They have been there since I started with braces in December 2008. The pontics do wobble a bit, but I have gotten used to only eating on my back teeth (my pontics are both canines). The other option that I h...

To the original poster. I switched orthodontists about 4 months into treatment. I quickly realized that I had the wrong ortho to start with because I left each appointment in tears. The first doctor was downright obnoxious and really made my first few months miserable. Fast forward one year later an...

Thank you all for the great advice. I am not mentioning lawyer at all, I really just wanted to get some advice. I will also not lie. Not only is it completely out of character for me, but I know that is could hurt me in the long run. I have a bunch of phone calls to make, but at least I now know my ...

I hate lying too, but I want to make sure I have my money and all of my records/xrays first. I am going to call a lawyer friend this weekend and talk him through my situation. I cannot afford to lose $6000 right now, so that is what I am more worried about than anything. Thanks for your input.

Changing Orthodontist mid-treatment?

I spent many months doing my research about orthodontists who specialized in riding pontics in order to make space for implants. I had a bridge that needed to be removed and then I needed two fake teeth put on the wires of my braces. I wanted to find an office that had a dentist with an orthodontist...

Thank you Clo and Meryaten for your kind words and for being so understanding. I managed to swallow down a few scrambled eggs this morning and then some hot rice cereal for lunch. Right now, the left pontic is touching my bottom teeth when I clench down so the swallowing of soft food is much better ...

Braces with Pontics

Is there any one on this forum who has experience with braces with riding pontics? I just got braces today with two incisor pontics and I am absolutely miserable. I didn't expect this much movement on the wire and I am wondering if there is a better way for me to get through the next 6-12 months unt...
