I can say that never happened to me before thank goodness! I would never live that one down with my family!

I remember a girl when I was in high school that had her wisdom teeth removed and ended up with a large lump on her jawline for a few weeks. I never asked her about it but I thought it was pertinent to add considering it was directly involved with her teeth.

well yea I knew that it's impossible to bite them with braces...that is common sense. I looked at the thread. I asked for HOME REMEDIES not ortho appliances to help kick the habit before i get braces again.

When I was younger (and my teeth were on the move quicker) I saw improvement in a few days!

Congrats! I am having to get rebraced as well after having them in my teens. ( Hopefully they will be my Christmas present from my husband! ) I'd love to hear about how you are doing and wish you well on your second journey!

I would research it a bit and then call your ortho or doctor to have it checked out. I have jaw issues as well and I have never had a lump of some sort appear out of nowhere. I'm hoping the best for you whatever it is. Don't stress too much about it dear!

I have a horrible habit of nail-biting and when I had braces as a child, that forced me to kick my habit and as soon as the braces were of..f I started up again and this has caused my right front tooth to move back from the nailbiting forces. Does anyone have any home remedies for kicking this habit?

oh my goodness TLB! i'm sorry to hear that happened to you! my shaving experience was horrible. I had to have the ortho stop every few seconds because it felt as if my whole head was rattling. maybe that's why they didn't shave as much lol

Back in the day when I first got my braces on, I had this wonderful fleece-like, fuzzy blanket and when I would sleep at night, my braces would rub on that blanket until I had a mouth full of fur. I would wake up in the morning to my mother and sister snickering at me through my door.

does it really matter if its sugar free? i had a bracket come off whilst chewing gum..because it was GUM.

go with which ortho u feel most comfortable with.

this happened to me as well. its the latex.

when relaxed, my top lip didnt cover either before getting braces and they brought my teeth forward.
