Consultations with orthodontists are usually free and they will always give you at least a ballpark figure of what you can expect to pay. A lot of offices also offer interest free financing... that is what I am doing...

I had spacers for a week and I didn't like it... I could not chew with those teeth because it hurt so much... it id get better I think by like the 6th day... but on the 7th day I got them out and they put braces in. The braces feel really weird but don't hurt as much.

Patient consent form... routine?

My ortho had me sign a patient consent form when I got my braces. It listed all the problems I might encounter as a result of braces... like cavities, root shortening and bone loss among other things. I was concerned about the bone loss part since I already have more than a person my age should have...

I have an underbite as well. When I was consulting with orthodontists they said if I chose to have surgery I would definetly need upper jaw surgery and probably lower. A surgeon told me I'd need upper and lower.
They all said my upper jaw is deficient.

I got my braces on today and my ortho gave me a discount to give to friends or family that may need braces - nobody I know needs braces so I figured I will ask here =)
It's for $500 off treatment in NYC.
