My most embarrassing story is the first day I got my PAB bar. I went to the ortho that morning and was able to right into work after (I run a bar)...It didn't hurt as much as it rub my gag reflex when I would say certain words. So here I am on the phone with distributors and every other sentence I'm...

My gap has been closed since my 3rd month... no it's not normal, and probably shouldn't happen like that, but my teeth went from a 2.5 mm gap to 0mm over night after having that particular power chain on for 4 weeks. MY Ortho said it was extremely rare for that to happen. But hang in there, it will ...

My teeth really were hideous, weren't they!

I really do feel awesome, still have a long way to go, and ortho says he may never get them perfect, but with them looking this good.... who cares they are beautiful!

I have to agree with Mary, If I saw a guy with braces, I would personally think that's HOT! It means to me that they care enough about themselves to want the best! I'm also quite a bit older than you, and am noticing a lot of people in between 20 and 30 that have braces. These days braces are a lot ...

Hi Sawyer, I too have an overbite(110%) I've had upper braces since Feb. and lowers since June. My teeth have come a long way had 7.5 mm gap closed up top and my lowers are straightening out nicely. To get to your question though, yes braces can correct your problem, and it's up to your O. on how th...

My dentist referred me to this gum and the mints as well. The sell in their office, so at first I was thinking that it was a way for them to make more money, but after using it for a bit I realized, that it indeed does help with build up. I started using it before getting braces and have used it wit...

No I'm pretty sure your ortho didn't place anything by accident. My brackets are also pretty low on my teeth, especially on the front ones. My only guess is for leverage and to tilt the teeth into the right angle. Honestly I wouldn't worry to much about what people think. For 1 I don't think they'll...

Hi.... I have had my brace for a month now, and the one thing I've noticed is that my bite is constantly changing. I asked my ortho and he said it's perfectly normal, that as the teeth start moving my bite will be changing.
I would still ask your ortho at your next appointment though.

First adjustment

Well i had my 1st adjustment on Wednesday, and after staying up all night stressing, I realized I had nothing to worry about. I was supposed to get a palletal bar and power chain on top of the usual lager AW. What I got was a power chain. That's it... and even then they left a link out becaus...

Hi collegegirl, I went out the first night in braces, and it wasn't so bad... that being said I have a few things to add to the list: Oragel is a must! When the brackets started rubbing my gums it hurt really bad, but a little dab of oragel helped a lot. Second; take wax! People can't really tell it...

congrats on taking the plunge! I myself am 29 and just started my journey a month ago. I also have a gap between the top front teeth, but no open bite. I have a 110% overbite, with a little over jet. It's been a experience so far, but I wouldn't change the outcome for nothing! Good luck to you, and ...

Very nervous...1st adjustment tomorrow

I go for my very 1st adjustment tomorrow and I'm very nervous. I'll be getting a bigger arch wire, a power chain, and a palatal bar to rotate molars as well. I did really well with banding and only had pain for the fist 3-4 days, but that seems to pale when compared to what they want to do this time...

I wish I could say something profound to help you feel better, but like you already said, the problem is in you and how you feel. I can relate to your fear of the unknown you. I have fought for so long to find ME and to learn to be comfy with who I am that the thought of losing it all again is terri...
