Yes----- my ortho told me and I have also read online that ADULT, especially late 20's + up, teeth Take Longer to Move. boo-ooo-ooo........ I'm still in the "Oh-man-there's-NO-way-these-extraction-CANYONS-are-going-to-close!" mode of thinking. Oh well---- we'll see. It's so hard to be pati...

Biting / Chewing and Treatment Time---- I couldn't begin to speculate on that one. It's a mystery to me. :?

From what my ortho told me in the beginning, it's all about age and roots.

I just turned 41 and have super long roots.
So I guess that means my teeth will take longer to move.

boo-ooo-ooo......... oh well

Thanks for replies! Judging by your signatures, this seems to be a 'newbie' thing. And, as if I owned a brand new Spam, I also obsessively floss, waterpik, swish and brush every chance I get. Maybe I'll take up crochet to stay busy when I'm not at work. ha Sidebar: Speaking of 'staying busy when not...

Weird / Goofy / Screwball-y / Habits and Mannerisms ?

Had the hardware on for 1 month now----- - I hyper-focus on the Canyon-Sized Extraction gaps. - I keep licking and rubbing my lips together (hopefully this isn't impeding progress!) I now am in a heavy-duty love affair with lip balm. - Going out to eat, it feels as if I'm doing my best Looney Tunes ...

The WORST part is the screwball-y faces you make while trying to dislodge the food in between bites. BUT , it seems, if you don't stay on top of managing this food build-up as you are eating, then half-way through your main course you end up wondering if you're starting to look like a squirre...

I've only had my braces on for a month. My extraction gaps look like CANYONS ! I'm trying not to look and examine them every day. And from what a poster further up said, it seems like the 'hyper-focusing' will pass with time. What's that old saying?-----> " A watched pot never boils" ?????...

The first night I had the braces installed, I went out to dinner with friends. I thought the pain was bad, but that was the least of my worries. 2 HOURS later, I happened to check my pocket mirror and marveled at the lovely, forest-green piece of parsley sitting on a front bracket. The next morning,...

Clenching at Night

Ok, so does anyone know if the clenching impedes or is detrimental to your treatment?? I clench every night. And also, when I'm sitting and doing something quietly (like replying to this post right now!). It doesn't cause me any discomfort----- I just feel a release of pressure when I 'unclench'. Bu...

Jaw Clenching Here, Too !

Jaw Clenching--- Sorry I don't have an answer, but I'm doing the same dang thing------ mostly at night and when I'm sitting and doing something quietly (like replying to this post right now!). I plan on searching online for some kind of answer and to determine whether or not it's impeding treatment....

Any Shout-Outs on a GOOD Floss to use?

Hi !

This forum is Fa-Boo!

I just got my ceramic hardware installed a couple of days ago. Can anyone recommend a great performing floss?
I have power chains, some kind of clear, funky ligament thing for closing the extraction gaps.

Thanks SO much from the newbie
