Re: eating
Hi all Just wondering if anyone ever eats with their IA in. Am afraid to even eat soup or smoothie, in case any bits get stuck in it and causes an obstruction or infection. Am I being too paranoid? Is it easy to eat with it in? I don't think it would be possible with mine as my teeth don't meet so ...

nicesmile77 Hello! No I was not told how long I would have to wear the brace for and to be honest at the time I was just happy that they were able to do something with my teeth. I wear the retainer almost all day and night and take it out to eat and for social occasions with friends. I think I can ...

Hi everyone, Haven't posted on here for a while now so I thought I would just drop by and read the posts and let you know how I am getting on. I have had my brace since Nov 08 now and my teeth have been pretty straight since January. I am still wearing my brace around 20 hrs a day but as soon as I ...

Re: IA Experience
Hey all, almost a week into treatment now and cant complain. Bit sore first few days but generally comfortable enough. Was just wondering a couple of things I meant to ask dentist and didnt. Following tightness and tenderness for first few days, the inman feels alot looser,is this normal? And secon...

Inman - wearing in public
Hi all. I have had the inman now for 6 weeks and there is a definite change in my teeth. I had overlapping of my front teeth (almost finished) and tooth rotation (a little bit to go yet). I have spoken on this forum before about wax that I use to sort of plug the hole to form a palate and I swear it...

Went to the dentist today and I can actually see a difference after 4 weeks. I thought I couldn't, but when I compare the mould of my old teeth to how my teeth are now, there really is an obvious change. He thinks another 4 to 6 weeks oughta do it....so I'm thrilled. I suppose I wasn't a really drea...

Hi there, just thought I'd post an update..... had the IA since last Wed and Thurs and Frid were just the worst days - the pain was quite severe - alot more severe than I thought it would be . The weekend has been fine though - no problems to speak of (if I could speak that is!!! ). Only...

The wax the dentist gave me is pliable wax that you can sort of plug the hole in the inman that makes it so hard to pronounce certain letters. You shape the wax into a sort of palate and makes it much easier to speak. I was told before that I sounded like I had a couple of drinks on me when I spoke ...

Just wondering if anyone else is using wax with their inman? The dentist told me that there are two schools of thought, one is that the wax does not interfere with the inman and the other which says that it does.I'm using the wax when I'm at work mainly so I can be understood (my speech is infinitel...

Week three
Hi, Haven't posted in a while. Got my inmans about three weeks ago and it hasn't been too bad at all. Some tenderness for about 4 days and the filing of the teeth sounds worse than it is, in fact it's over in about a minute. My dentist has not mentioned anything about an arch expander or composite f...

Hi irishbrace, I'm in Dublin and have only approached one dental practice thus far and that is Redmond Molloy. I haven't heard anything back about them so am more inclined maybe to go with Sutton because you seem to have had a good experience with them. I think you're right about the old school orth...
