Hello,
Thanks for your reply.
I had treatment with the inman aligner which is used only to straightenthe front 6 teeth.
I have a bonded retainer and that is only fixed to my front 6 teeth also.
Just wondered if anyone/ or their orthodontist has cut theirs to fit.

Has anyone cut their essix retainer to size?
Hello all, I need a tooth at the back extracting and so my current retainer won't fit over the back teeth any longer. I know that my retainer is only designed to keep the front 6 teeth straight, so would I be able to cut those back teeth off the end of one side of the retainer so it fits again? I do...

Hi Jen, I would say go for it. The chances of your treatment being completed before the wedding are slim (i'm almost a year into treatment and still wearing a clear retainer full time and mine was a fairly straightforward case, I posted some photos a few months ago) but you will definitely see some ...

Hi Never2old, I thought I was the only one having problems!! My front teeth weren't even that bad compared to other cases I've seen completed in 8-12 weeks, so I was thinking I'd be done in 6 weeks, and here I am 26 weeks later. I too went to the dentist a couple of weeks ago expecting to get my cle...

Hi, I have had my inman for 26 weeks now to correct a slightly overlapping front tooth. I was told it would take 12 weeks but I still have it. I found I had a lot of movement in the first 7 weeks and from then it's been so slow, although I have had some movement. I've been wearing it on average 16-1...

Sherral, Would love to see some photos! I am now on week 23... I had the mould taken for my clear as I haven't had any movement for weeks now so we're hoping the clear will put the final bit into place before I use it as my retainer. I initially expected 12-16 weeks so it has taken much longer! Did ...

Hi there Eib, This is one of the questions I present everytime I go to the dentist! He usually tells me that wherever it is sitting it is usually fine, but I would try and rest it where most of the overlap is. I have found that over time as my teeth have moved the bar has got lower as the teeth have...

I really need to get hold of this wax. I've had a look online but can't work out which type it is, there seems to be a dental modelling wax, which comes in rather large pieces, or some smaller ones that come in quite small strips. I can't see that the small strips would be enough. Has anyone got a w...

Hi everyone, I'm now onto week 12 of the IA, however I seemed to have reached a plateau? Has anyone else experienced this? In my first 3-4 weeks I had quite a bit of movement and when I went to the dentist week 7 he could see a great improvement, but the past month I seem to have had no movement. I ...

Hi nicesmile when you say you are using wax, how do you mean? This has never been mentioned to me, and my speech hasn't really improved at all in the 5 weeks I've had the IA. Do you only use it when you have the expander? I haven't got this. I've had a noticeable improvement in the straightness of m...
