Re: million dollar smile open bite

It has been almost 2 years (I think) since getting my braces. The picture hosting website i used to used is gone, and so are most of my pictures, but here is an update with what I've got now. I started with cooked teeth and an open bite. Pre braces: http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm109/surfgirlk...

new pics

Its been a long time since I updated. I am just over a year in. The bite is looking way better but I still wish my teeth were more straight. I have at least another year left so I guess there's plenty of time for that. Here are some pics: week 1: http://www.imagehut.net/images/lt2o2t1aoeb25zfa5dge_t...

million dollar smile with pictures

Ok well its been a couple of months now. I havent seen too many changes. Except I think my top arch is getting worse than it was in month 5. I go back in 2 weeks to change the top wire. He said we need to create torque. I hope that will start to fix the arch. I have springs on the bottom to close up...

lav1, I have the same elastics configuration as you. I hated it at first but the results have been great. Do you have any progress pictures? I have pictures on my page, if you click www below. My ortho originally told me we'd use TADs but with the progress from elastics I dont see them being necessa...

great pictures and progress! i had an open bite too that has been closed with elastics. i know you must be so excited! is your surgery just for the open bite, or do you have other things going on? i declined surgery myself, but am happy with my results so far.

I had an NPE which is a little different, but mine was in for 4-5 months. I hated every minute of it but it did do its job!

I am almost at my 5 month mark. I have been slacking on wearing my elastics over the last month because it was bringing my bottom jaw so far fwd that my front teeth touched and my back teeth didnt. I never thought I'd have that problem, but I couldn't chew very well, it was super annoying and I just...

Thanks kilikena, Yeah I was really impressed at the elastics, considering my alternative was major surgery. My teeth moved fast and I can even tell that my toungue thrusting which seems to have caused the open bite (or maybe the open bite caused the tounge thrust) has stopped bc my toungue now rests...

Hi gracey! The expander greatly affected my speech in the beginning. My Ortho even said he was worried about me bc I sounded really bad LOL . But its been about 4 months and my speech is pretty much normal again. Certain words or sounds get me a little but but overall its not bad. I'd say it took ab...

I think its 4 months

OK, its about four months in. I have open? powerchains on top and some sort of metal wire ties on the bottom. This was a pretty painful appt. I have to keep my expander in til who knows when. Vertical elastics only on the left side for the next month. Next appt in 4 weeks. http://www.imagehut.net/im...

My progress is going really well. My open bite has virtually closed with vertical elastics. The original plan called for TADs later down the line but I am not sure that I will need it. Here is a link to my updates: http://www.archwired.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=30617 I am happy with the closing of ...
