I'm hoping to get the bonded retainer rather than the plastic one. My dentist said I'd have a choice. I actually read somewhere they were better. And I don't think I can face wearing the plastic thing every night for the rest of my life....

I started out diligent but quickly went to averaging 20 hours (i.e. half way through my first tray). Turns out the dentist said that was fine, but less than 20 could become a problem. Some days I do less than 20; everything seems fine, but I'm only on my second tray...

It gets easier..

Try different ways of leveraging them out. Start on one side and work your way round. Try leveraging from the inside. You'll develop your ideal technique pretty quickly.

The trays also get looser after a few days, so usually it's only the beginning of a tray that is so bad.

Just finished my first tray.. I got a canker sore on the gumline where the tray was a little too tight. Dentist didn't seem to think it was a problem, but I am not sure it isn't going to heal back receded, so watch out for these ones. Other sores: I can only recommend filing down any sharp edges, ea...

I'm on my first tray and had this exact experience. When I first had the aligners on, the upper tray fit tightly but the bottom seemed looser round the rim and also didn't fit properly against the molars on one side, which also seemed to feel sensitive. After a few days the tray seemed to start fitt...

Thanks. Well the dentist changed it to 20 aligners without mentioning it. Oh well...

I have them now - they don't seem too bad... Less pressure than I thought. Top seems to fit snugger than the bottom. But I"ll try not to second guess too much what's going on..!

Starting on monday, protruding teeth (pics)

Hello everyone. Just joined. Am starting invisalign on Monday so thought I'd post my 'before' pics here. I left it a long time before doing anything about my teeth. Hope to bring them back so they are less protruding (looks like they need a bit of whitening too!). If they look like they are supposed...
