p.s. I should mention that I was never told that this was the case and that I was given the impression that I'd probably have to wear my final tray for about 6 months at night and that would be it.... On the up side, here's a little overview of my experience, and maybe a few hints for newbie*: 1 - i...

Now that I've (nearly) finished...

I went for my final check today. I've effectively finished, but I've been booked in next week to get impressions taken as I'll need one or two refinements. And that's fine, because I'm *really* pleased with the results and my teeth will look fantastic once I'm done. However, my dentist gave me the i...

Thanks for the thoughts, folks. Really useful!

Will def get myself something to soak them in, for a start. I'm drinking lots of water, and clean my mouth, tongue and braces pretty well so am assuming it's not that.

I'll also be asking my dentist his thoughts too.

Cheers!

Smelly breath

I'm approaching halfway through a year-long Invisalign treatment. Starting to see progress, and I'm over all the issues most people have in the early days (lisp, saliva, soreness etc). However, my girlfriend says my breath often smells a bit. Nothing major, but enough that I'm conscious of it. I've ...

Oooh, I forgot all about this thread.

Haven't been here in a while.

Thanks people. There is definitely progress. It's small, but it's getting there.

14/35 now, so approaching the mid way point...

When did you start to notice a difference?

I'm 7 sets into a 35 set treatment (10 day rotation). That means I'm a fifth of the way through a year-long process, and I can't see any difference. I've compared set 1 and set 8 and although there's clearly a very small difference in them, but it's barely visible. I know I'm being impatient, and I ...

Thanks folks.

Have definitely been drinking more water than ever, which can only be a good thing!

This last week has been a lot easier, and it's all starting to feel less "alien" in my mouth.

Started sets 4/35 this morning....

The ultimate test...

Well, this weekend I spent a few days with my Mum and Dad. The first time I've seen them both properly since I started my Invisalign treatment about a month or so ago. And neither of them noticed a thing. They definitely would have said if they thought my teeth looked strange or I was talking with a...

Dry Mouth

I'm about a month into 12 months of treatment, and the biggest problem for me is the discomfort of my mouth being dry after I've had them in for more than an hour or so. This is normally made worse if I have to talk a lot. The irony is that while I'm talking I find that my mouth fills with saliva mo...

Hi, I paid about 2500 pounds for mine. Will be a year of treatment, no whitening etc. Was told it was a "medium to difficult case". I'm on my second tray now. It's been a very easy process, to be honest and totally pain free (although not without a bit of discomfort!). p.s. I'm paying noth...

Very true. No reason why there should be a problem at all. I'm about 5 days in, and all going ok. Getting them in and out is a relatively simple process now, but I still find they feel a little "intrusive" after a while. I'm sure that will pass within a week or two. I'm no longer lisping, ...

Thanks folks. Things are going well. A few days in and it's no longer a ten minute struggle to get my braces out (just a 30 second struggle!). I don't know whether that's improved technique, or whether a sign that my teeth have moved ever so slightly. I've spoken at length with them in, and my sligh...

Well, I'm about 18 hours into my Invisalign experience. Apart from them being tough to get out (I have had attachments fitted straight away), and the attachments rubbing on the inside of my lips when I've eaten, it's been pretty pain free. I actually have no major pressure or discomfort. In fact, th...

Running should be fine.
That's really useful advice. Thanks!
