bottle opener

My 19 year old nephew, who had braces for 2 years, saw me over the Christmas holidays for the first time in a year. Knowing I had been wearing Invisalign since the last time we had seen each other, he says "let's see what ya got!" So I smile and immediately he says, "cool....you don't...

Invisalign Aligner Cleaner

Invisalign Cleaner crystals do work well but are pretty expensive. I only used them once per set of liners, generally after week 1 during a two-week wear time. Since I'm in my enhancement phase and am running low on cleaner packets, I've been using generic dental prosthesis effervescent tabs and the...

I prefer my teeth with my aligners in!

Yes! I think I'm dreading aligner withdrawal! And once I get over that, it'll take me months if not years to rid myself of this confounded habit of brushing and flossing after every meal and snack....Cruel Invisalign, you've turned me into a toothpaste addict too....LOL....

I prefer my teeth with my aligners in!

Ditto all the above. I'm on 21 of 21 lowers and not only do they look better in, it feels more normal in than when they're out.....When they're out, my teeth feel sharp and hard-edged.....weird weird weird....the good news is my bottom teeth are straight, something i used to only dream about, fantas...

When did you start to notice a difference?

I'll have 11 U and 21 L. I'm currently on 10U and 10L and the results are startling. Started Dec. 18th, 2008, really started noticing changes around February. Compliance and Patience are everything. Hang in there, and Good Luck. BTW, I now no longer consider myself the bearer of occluded teeth and I...

Positive stories!

i have nothing but good things to say: my attachments don't hurt, never fell off and cannot be seen....of course the liners are invisible too, the only visibility being they give your teeth an shiny enamel like sheen like you've had $20,000 worth of dental work! you get so used to having the liners ...

how many refinements are included in the initial cost??

Wow, finally a self-identified ortho to answer all the questions we can't possibly think to ask. Great, informative answers, keep checking in on us, we have experiences and solutions but not the authority of a licensed practitioner. I've purposely gone back and read all of your posts, terrific. Invi...

Clinicheck denied

I'm going to hazard a guess that your Ortho is erring on the side of caution, for reasons known only to him/her. Off hand, intellectual property reasons or perhaps future malpractice evidence? The IP reasons don't exist (as far as I know, I mean you paid Invisalign, the clincheck is yours and would ...

Bunch of Questions im new with invisalign

I drink w/ my liners in all the time, but invested in packages and packages of sipping straws which are kept at home and at work and which I use between meals. When I go out, I generally just take the liners out so not to appear too frou-frou....a 52 yr old man sucking on a chilled martini with a we...

clincheck seems fishy...

Hey, I don't know your ortho, haven't seen your clinchek, or the rest of it. But you need to give things a chance. If you've researched this doc's patient history, and you trust him/her, let things proceed for a little while. Anxiety about looks, money, quackery, etc. is normal, and if all you're do...

Thinking about it...

Two major submechanisms within the Invisalign system are 'attachments' and IPR, or interproximal reduction (essentially shaving teeth a few microns down to make aligning them more easy and w/o extracting other teeth). One theme I've noticed is often the degree to which people are doing ok or not ok ...

Haven't seen a ClinCheck Video

My dentist showed me the whole ClinChek set of animation before one attachment was applied or IPR performed. And when I asked for a copy of the ClinChek to be emailed, he happily complied. It seems to me it's best for all parties concerned to know as much as possible about the procedure before begin...

Now I wish I had done something, 10 months minimum of liners is a long time to wait....

Others Over Age 50 With Invisalign - 3 Weeks Per Aligner??

Wow I consider myself really fortunate....I'm 52, and have been wearing my liners since December. I've experienced absolutely no side effects, and am able to change my liners every two weeks. All my corrective movement is in my lower/mandibular set, essentially 4 mildly occluded teeth. Yes, tightnes...

thanx bbsadmin! Sounds like you know your stuff. It didn't make sense to me when my dentist, a cosmetic dentistry specialist, said that about veneers. Being a newbie to invisalign and one who never had anything done beyond normal maintenance, I just took his comments at face value, deferring to his ...
