Hey guys,
My oral surgeon said that I shouldn't drink out of a straw, but he did not mention for how long. I am 4 weeks post op, and I was wondering if it is safe to start drinking stuff out with a straw.
Thanks!

Skin has gone all wonky and I thought it was because I switched my lotion! I am 3 weeks post-op and I'm having a horrible time of it with my skin. Peeling, and pimples galore! When will it stop? =/

Post-op
My underbite was definitely worse after having braces for awhile. I just got surgery a couple weeks ago and it is all better now =) You just have to stick it out.

Yup
Cheek bones look fuller, but I'm still swollen so I'm not 100% sure if they'll stay like that.

let's put it this way...
Let's put it this way...five days after surgery, my boyfriend came over and could tell that I lost weight after giving me a hug. It is amazing how fast you get sick of liquid food, and the meds make you feel like throwing up all the time. You also lose a lot of blood during surgery. I would just eat...

Constantly feel like throwing up
Hey guys, I am currently about 6 days post-op, and I constantly feel like throwing up. I have no appetite, but I feel like I have to eat food with the medicine or else I'll feel worse. Did anyone else experience this? And is there anything specific I can do to feel better? Maybe I'm just tired of mu...

Thanks =)
I'm a girl, so I feel like it is better to have a 'softer' lower jaw, but my surgeon also told me that operating on the lower jaw is more likely to result in complications involving numbness. Thanks for your input guys =)

You are not the only one who is worrying about this...trust me. I was complaining to my orthodontist that no one wants to date a college girl with braces. Do you know what his response was? He has no sympathy for me anymore because I recently landed a great boyfriend =) The road is hard, and sometim...

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the support. Still not feeling that great, but I heard it gets worse before it gets better. Your words are so helpful.

Post-op...so uncomfortable!!
Hey guys, So I just got out of the hospital yesterday afternoon after upper jaw surgery, and I'm running into some problems that I'm hoping you guys can help me with. Did anyone else experience 'bubbles' in their cheeks? My surgeon says this is normal but they are really bugging me, and I think they...

upper jaw advancement
Hi guys,
I have an underbite, and I thought I was going to get my bottom jaw moved back and my top jaw moved forward, but my oral surgeon opted for moving the top jaw only. Is there anyone else out there who has fixed their underbite by moving the top jaw only? What did you guys think?
Thanks guys

Asian student, Caucasian surgeon
Hey guys, I understand that having jaw surgery will alter my face, but I have read a couple posts about some people not liking their appearance post op. I am Asian, so my face is not as defined as a Caucasian person's would be. I feel like any slight change to my jaw will make a huge difference in t...
