Has any one experienced this type of pain before?

I sat down to eat my dinner the other night and out of no where I got a severe neuralgic pain on one of my lower molars. Ever since then the pain has been getting steadily stronger and getting triggered more frequently. It is nothing like the pain you experience after an adjustment, the closest thin...

I think it is normal for teeth to move v. quickly with non-ligating brackets because there's no friction from the ligatures. There's a few regulars on here who have these type of brackets and they've all made v. fast progress. You are lucky - you'll have a shorter treatment time than the rest of us!...

My ortho did actually say that I was fine to chew gum, just make sure it's sugar-free. Yep, I've eaten all the things they say you shouldn't including ribs, popcorn, nuts, raw veg. Apart from an incident with a giant hard lollipop that bent my archwire out of shape for 12 hours (it miraculously popp...

Well it's been just over four weeks I've had my braces on now and I've been noticing what feel like big changes to me, (but when you point them out to other people or look at a photo, they don't look half as drastic as I think!) I notice when I floss it is really easy to get the floss through as the...

It's really strange not having ANY pain with these braces, I really was expecting a lot more discomfort. I'm the same as you Joplin, a tiny bit of tenderness the first day but certainly not enough to take any sort of pain killer or have any problems eating and then after day 1...nothing! I was expec...

Loop's Story - Braced at last!

Well my braces day came and went finally! I was so excited I could not wait to get to the Ortho's office. Had yet another set of impressions taken, this is about the fifth set I've had taken this year. The most pleasant impressions experience I've had so far; they were in and out in a couple of minu...

Just popped in your thread to say hi and see how you were doing Joplin. How's it going with your braces, are they still sore? Do you find any teeth hurt more than others, I can imagine that the laterals might be sorer than the rest because they're the most out of place. I meant to ask you before, ar...

Well I'm feeling a lot happier about things today after I went for a consultation with a private ortho. He's suggested a different treatment plan to the hospital. Basically he is not going to use the lingual arch or TPA as they maintain the arch width, he suggested using Damon 3's which will actuall...
