Thank you for that! somehow it's easier to know other people are in the same boat. I hope people don't notice as I feel very conscious of it. anway, it does seem to be getting a bit better with practice - I keep repeating 'Swiss chocolate and cheese' to myself in the car! all the very best, Frankie

Speech

Having found no problems with my speech in the very early days I am now, one month in really struggling. I have a terrible lisp (actually I sound like the sloth in ice age!) and it is really impacting my work. I have to do a presentation tomorrow and I am really dreading it. does anyone have any adv...

I am paying about GBP5,000 for mine. I hope it's going to be worth it!

Me too. I have ceramics on the bottom and linguals (as of yesterday) on the top and so far the ceramics have been more uncomfortable - both immediately after being fitted and even now. But neither are unbearable.

I've just had STB's fitted (yesterday) and am really happy. I was mentally preparing myself for the worst and the reality is much better. Not uncomfortable at all (although a bit weird) and talking is much easier than I expected as well - in fact it's just like normal although it was a bit difficult...

I'm really surprised. my braces are not incognito, but the other ones (TBS or something) and there is hardly any real discomfort at all. It feels really weird having all these extra things in your mouth but you get used to it really quick. Talking not a problem although there is a slight lisp but I ...

I know! I had my lingual braces fitted to my top teeth yesterday and it's really fine. Hardly any discomfort and talking is much easier than I expected as well. Eating is a bit of a problem but I'm just sticking to soft stuff for the time being. I'm really relieved - I have put off doing this for TE...

Know exactly what you mean about speech etc. Am also a bit worried. Have taken three days off work this week to have a bit of time to get used to them and am also trying to work out what to do with my tongue! They are getting fitted today, so I will let you know how it feels later. All the very best...

Ceramics and LInguals

Hi there, I have just had ceramics fitted on my bottom teeth and am going in a couple of days to have linguals on my upper teeth. My problem is just general crowding which has caused some teeth to buckle quite a lot. Does anyone else have both kinds of braces? Is there anything I need to be aware of...
